PETA asks for legal action against Gainesville police officer

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has petitioned the Hall County District Attorney to charge a former Gainesville police officer with cruelty to animals.

I am NOT a PETA fan at all. However, someone has got to take a stand on animal cruelty and for this, PETA and USHS must be respected. Animal cruelty is not enforced enough, including wild animals. We have all heard of psycho's who started on animals and we can't ignore cruel acts.

Actually the police officer was following an accepted military dog training method. It sounds pretty cruel and I wouldn't do it but I don't think he violated any laws.

Well who ever let the truth get in the way of a good story? Remember the media was so quick to report the story and when people started telling the truth the story died in the media. No guilty cop to blame, let it go.

Actually, I don't believe PETA has anything to do with communism. They try to promote humane treatment of animals. There are people that have no respect for wild or domestic animals in this world. People can legally let their dogs drag cynderblocks from their necks to make them stronger for fighting. Yet dog fighting is not legal. Maybe a few people on here should walk a few miles with concrete blocks hanging from their necks so they can prove that they are not communists. If the dog was a part of a team it should have been treated as such. Not punished for being part of a team.

Peta is the only org willing to get in there and roll their sleeves up to make needed changes.

And guess what? It isn't Peta who is making these things up - it's humans. All Peta does is bring it to the attention of the general public. And because we normally don't care to see actual cruelty, we turn our heads and frown at Peta.

We should reconsider who our frowns should be addressed to.

PETA is an extreme left wing excuse to attack America. PETA is a dangerous and possibly violent organization. They want to take away American citizen's rights to eat meat and take away hunter's rights!

Animals are NOT people! Animals have no soul! Many animals are a major food source! It is nature as it was intended, just as animals eat other animals!

PETA is against mother nature! PETA is against the environment!

Much funding for PETA comes from leftist sources that are not interetsed in animal welfare but in causing the destabilization of American society and economy!
