I was among the witness at this major accident. It all happened when a sport car was traveling down the HOV lane at least 100mph+ and the driver was switching lane and lost control of the car. I saw at least 4 bodies on the ground with no responses. Seeing this all unfolding in front of my eyes, makes me think twice about driving on the highway again.

Oh, my gosh; that's awful! Those poor people.

It should make people think twice about driving 100 mph+ on a stretch of highway. There will always be something that goes wrong when drivers are that irresponsible. From what you described of the accident scene, it sounds like that driver is most likely a murderer.

What a horrible way to be remembered.

How horrible, so glad you weren't hit. I simply can not understand why Georgia will not stop these speeders on I-85. You only have to cross the border to South Carolina to see how a solid commitment to enforcing the speed limit slows down drivers.

I hope the driver was among the dead. My sympathies to the families of the innocent.

It is simply too easy to get a driver's license in this state. Even my own test was a joke. I would be willing to take another test if the state would make testing requirements more stringent.

Oh my prayers to the families of the injuried and the death of the others involved.

Both of my children have just moved back from that area to Marietta, I hated them traveling back and forth to Winder, I would have been completely freaking out here not knowing if they were involved. Again many prayers! It breaks my heart.

I agree about the driver being among the dead, but most of the time its the innocent people doing nothing wrong that lose their life. My prayers are with the family of these innocent victims. If the police in these counties would patrol the highways and pull these people over instead of only speedtraps in residential areas some of this would stop, but our police have to hit that quota each month so they do it the easiest way. And that is not on are dangerous highways.

People drive way too fast on the interstate.

My brother and I were just sitting in traffic behind the wreck. People started using the emergency lane once traffic started backing up, BLOCKING the EMERGENCY RESPONCE VEHICLES! PEOPLE...this is why we have emergency lanes...not so you can get home 5 minutes sooner. To all the people who decided to use the emergency lane tonight on 85 north...you may have caused someone's death!

There is no reason for people to be driving that fast. People seem to think that their time is more important than others' time and lives. People make me sick

I completely agree. Even as I sit at my computer I can hear people speeding at least 70mph down a 40mph residential street. It just makes me so angry.

The police need to pay attention to the interstate. Either County or State. I was almost side swiped today by a mom on her cell phone driving a 17 foot suv going about 90 mph

We can start by making law enforcement salaries attractive enough to attract more people, and more qualified people. We are already paying an extraordinary amount of tax on a gallon of gas, why not fund it with an extra 1 cent tax? Of course, I can already see the objections, but something must be done to make these roads safer for all motorists.

The more volume you have in cars the more accidents you are going to have. Tonight showed another reason to take the train when going downtown.

Because our governor and business leaders have no interest in making people obey the driving laws of our state. If they did, their marketing materials would have to say it takes more than an hour to commute from the suburbs to the city, instead of the 20 minutes they like to cite. It's unconscionable and they have blood on their hands.

My wife is stuck between Jimmy Carter Blvd and Indian Trail Rd coming home from work. She's an accountant so these are later hours for her but she left early (haha) to come because she wasn't feeling very good. Now she has to sit there till about midnight. Seems to me they could at least clear one lane, don't you think?

"Seems to me they could at least clear one lane, don't you think?"

In all fairness DAA people did die at this site. They need to do their investigation. I am sorry people are being inconvienanced (sp?).
