I've never lived anywhere where there is so much carnage on the highways like this area. I think it is the population density, distances, rapid growth, and convergence of all the interstates that cause this. Not to mention the drivers education classes! Oh wait. What drivers education classes? Maybe I stumbled on to something there. Nah.

I drove by a bad motorcycle chopper crash in Rt. 411 near 1-75 in Bartow county today, Sunday, around 5:30pm or so. Does anyone have any details if the riders are Ok? The male looked like he might survive, but the woman was in bad shape from what I could see. I'm not sure who was the passenger and who was the rider. It was an ugly scene to say the least.

I agree. I moved here 6 months ago from the west coast and I dont think I have ever seen so many horrible accidents. Also drivers are so agressive, and impulsive. If I didn't pay attention to the road as closly as I do I would have been in at least thee accidents on Saturday. Including one with a semi who was tail gating me at the same time as a car suddenly changed lanes in front of me.

This intersection on Sugarloaf and 29 is bad. You wait 10 minutes in a turn lane for the turn light and when it changes, it only allows 3 car to turn. Same as Sugarloaf and Five Forks Trickem. These two intersections are only a half mile apart and just about every time I pass them, There is an accident in those intersections. The red lights needs to be adjusted. Or better than that, Put a traffic camera at those intersections. It helped 78 and Scenic Highway.

Traffic lights HAD NOTHING TO DO with the accident last night (as Justice for All mentioned in his remarks). It was pure stupidity on the part of the teenagers in the cars. Too bad, innocent people going the other way were victims also!

The pregnant teen, 15 year old driver, speeding, drag racing, etc. represents what the environment of our country is becoming: Chaotic.

So many comments, yes traffic is terrible in Atlanta but what is really terrible is why was a 15 year old driving? Sad to say Atlanta needs to be strict in this childs and parents punishment. A innocent 20 year old man lost his life for no reason. So many teens think life is a game. Parents need to get more involved and kids should not drive cars. Someone gave him the keys. As for the 15 year pregnant , yes it should be mentioned as it is what it is. This whole news item should be a message to everyone with children that all of us need to get more involved with the youth. A 15 year old is going to court for taking a life and another 15 year old child is having a child. Both of their lives will be changed forever.

Parents really need to reconsider giving their children cars or allowing them access to vehicles in the home until they have completed driver education classes and after the teen has shown responsibility behind the wheel. I got my license on my 16th birthday, back when it wasn't required to take a class. But my parents still took the time with me to teach me how to "really" drive. Anybody can pass a test, but what about some hands on training. At first I was my parents personal "unpaid" chauffer, driving them back and forth to the store, driving them to pick up siblings, to pick up dinner, basically, where ever they needed to go and when ever. And this was with a license - not a permit. Then when they sent me on errands by myself, I honestly didn't want to go. I got upset because my parents turned driving into a chore. I personally think parents are not taking the time out with their children to make sure they are "mentally" ready to drive a car. These children are killing other people when they are acting irresponsible behind the wheel. If we start holding the parents responsible for the actions of their children, then I think there will be a lot less deadly teen accidents. The parents are providing the vehicles or means and access to vehicles, so at some measure the parents are also responsible for what happens.

Amazing. Has the forum finally learned proper politically correct decorum?

I'm surprised there is no public inquiry on the immigration status of these kids and their parents.

I'm surprised there is no outcry of "where are the parents" followed by a litany of how black fathers are not in the home and how you can't take the t-hug out the ghetto and how rap music is the cause for this.

Funny how nobody said anything negative about a 15 year old girl being pregnant and how these young girls are a drain on the welfare system.

Funny how nobody speculates on these things when the perpetrators just might be White. You can't really tell from the name can you so it's best to remain silent? You dare not criticize your own because there simply must be a reasonable explanation for this that has nothing to do with culture or color...hmmm

AMEN! I honestly could care less about the color. Point is an innocent man died due to the stupidity of a child. Minor or not, he was capable enough to drive at a high rate of speed with no license, he should be man enough to take the punishment of a man! PERIOD!!!
