All of the workers that were caught abusing these animals should be punished. I believe Helen Sonenshine should be punished too! After all, this facility and the workers were ultimately her responsibility.
I'm glad that these animals will be taken to the Guilford County Animal Shelter where they will be well cared for and hopefully each of these animals is able to find a loving home.

I am so happy that these beautiful angels are getting away from the harsh abuse. I hope they find great homes anf get the love that they deserve. The trash that done that to them needs to treated the same way these beautiful angels were treated.

Why is the already overcrowded, understaffed Guilford County Animal Shelter taking in animals from 4 hours away? Do they not have enough animals to take care of here?

And before you ignorant blowhards jump on me again, I have to ask if any of you have ever worked in an animal shelter at all? Have you ever had to be the one to euthanize 40 to 60 perfectly healthy and mostly adoptable animals a day? NO YOU HAVEN'T, but I have and that is why I don't work at the Guilford County Animal Shelter anymore. I was there for 5 years and had enough of the death, the behind the scences cruelty and politics that go on there.

So all you bleeding hearts, go get the REAL story. This is why I said that GCAS is using that poor dog that will never be able to walk as a PR stunt. I DID NOT SAY THAT THEY DID THAT TO THE DOG, just that they would just euthanize him and go on about their business if they didn't think it would generate money for them. Guess what, it is working because you people won't open your eyes to the cruelty that is going on in front of you at GCAS.

Why do I even bother...

Hmmmm, let me come face to face with anyone that abuses animals and I will personally abuse them like they did a defenseless dog or cat or any other animal. A person that does this to animals are cowards.

It is truely a sad way these animals were treated. I am happy to see that their torture is over. Now why is there no criminal charges being set forth on these people????? This does not need to be let go.

Probably because there is no proper authority to report it to. BJ Barnes is blinded by the management of the shelter, as is other powerful political and business figures in Guilford Co. and Greensboro. Don't worry, it'll come out one day...

From what I know, Guilford is not taking them all. Several shelters are helping. A NJ animal santuary came down Friday to take some dogs and cats.

Please sign up on the PETA website. You can be a fan and show them on your facebook. You can buy animal friendly clothing etc. I understand that alot of people think you have to be vegan to support this organization but that is simply not true. You only have to love animals and want them to always be treated in humanely. These people have worked hard for a very long time to make sure all God's creatures are protected...so take a minute to check them out. I personally would like to send them a big thank-you for all they do. It is not easy to go up against big business...PETA YOU ROCK! Anna Moyer-W/S NC

I am sorry for what you've had to witness and be a part of working in an animal shelter. I honestly believe that most people who go to work at an animal shelter of any kind do so hoping they will make a positive difference. I have had to have animals put to sleep...some because they were sick and old and some because they had dangerous behavior problems that could not be overcome. It is never easy to be the one in charge in a life and death decision. I will say a prayer for your peace of mind. Carry on a good fight for all the creatures of our earth...they are worth it and you will never regret trying to help them. Try to find forgiveness in your heart for those who do not understand the value of life...they are worth it too. :)
