Was just two fools, with long felony records out for a good time, ignoring all responsibility for their actions. Oh Boy what a recipe for disaster and it happened. At least they did not take anyone else with them. In this case a scooter was much better than a car, not so likely to kill an innocent person. What kind of mother do you think this irresponsible woman would have been for her unborn child?

They sell alcohol on every corner and expect a man who is addicted to it not to drink till they get home.

I honestly don't understand why in the world this lady would ride on a scooter with a man she knew was drinking! I also don't understand why a intoxicated man would even attempt to give a PREGNANT woman a ride! He has got his guilt to live with, so I suppose in one manner this is the first of his punishment. GOD be with her daughter, my prayers are with them both.

Before any more of you state your opinion you should know that her daughter, Desiree, who is only 13 years old is reading these comments. Despite what has happened or whatever the reasoning behind why her mother was on the scooter, the fact remains that this little girl has lost her mother and her unborn baby sister. Ignorant and insensitive comments like the ones that were posted here and on the last news story about this are ridiculous. Use some common curtosey. Pray for this child. Pray for her grandmother who has to raise her. Pray that you yourself or none of your family members have to experience what she is going through at 13 years old. You aren't hurting anyone but poor Desiree by making yourself feel better about putting in your two cents worth. Best of all remember what you were taught. If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all.

I just dont understand how a pregnant women would even think of getting on a scooter with the driver being drunk. Im sure the driver will be out & back on the roads in no time! That's how messed up our system is!

Happy mom,

The funeral is over, you can go read the good touchy/feely comments on Cumby's website.

This woman gave her daughter up for heavens sake, and she was pregnant with another daughter with an unknown father when she was killed on the scooter with a drunk. Her grandmother was already in charge of nurturing and supporting the older child because of the irresponsiblity of her mother.

People will say what they want on this forum, this is a open discussion, you are not in charge of editing comments here. So shove off and you know where you can stick your comments.

Maybe you need to go run interference for the Pope and Vatican and help white wash all the current news on clergy abuse issues in the Catholic Church. Just cover everything up and all will be ok. It's not working for the Vatican and it has not worked in this case. Always saying something nice is a way of covering up the real issues and avoiding responsibility. How do we learn if we don't admit mistakes when they are made.

He didnt take any lives. Im sure he feels bad about what has happened. He was helping this girl out and giving her a ride. it has been said that this was her only way around. well maybe it was her idea to leave on the scooter that day. Then that would mean this was her fault. He was hurt in this crash too. I dont think he should be charged with felony death by vehicle

Wrong! He whole heartedly should be charged with felony death by motor vehicle. He was drunk, surely he knew this (as it wasn't his first drunken offense) and went out anyway. He is a repeat offender and this time it cost someone their life. Prison for the rest of his life.

I was taught to tell the truth. The truth is that two adults acted stupidly and it had devastating consequences. This discussion isn't about the family left behind. It's about a stupid drunk driver and the idiot that chose to ride with him. If anyone is worried about a 13 year old reading the truth about the accident, then keep them off of the forum where the free exchange of ideas are shared. You can sugar coat this and make up stories to defend the actions of these two if it makes you feel better, but I think everyone else knows the truth.
