That is a ignorant post. It's against the law and with so many drag strips around why risk it. I'd hate to lose my wife or kid to someone thinking they are cool by street racing. Nothing but a bunch of clowns trying to act like a hero. Look, Piedmont will let folks make passes and bet on it, they will also pump it up for you if it's for a good bit of cash, so it can't be about that.

Street racing is just dangerous since anything can happen such as a car pull out in front of racers or a car could go out of control with that speed.

I think Andy's comment is just out of line. Drag racing should be just done on the drag strip where it is 'safer'. I'm sure Andy just doesn't see the danger since he now has to find something else to do on Saturday night.

These cops are just pussys to scared to go bust drug dealers, or big time criminals so they concentrate on the little crimes like a seat belt ticket, or a 56 in a 55. I just think our tax money could be used for something a little better than this. Plus on top of that at midnight there might be MAYBE one car on the whole freaking highway in the regions these small time street racers race and im saying MAYBE! High point isnt the place to race anymore all they really do there is cruise the streets at night. There are 3 other main spots code named that i can guarantee they will never find. These spots are invitation only and everyone knows everyone. So troopers you can get all the little "white v6 mustangs, all the blue or white or silver monte carlos, all the old black explorers, or even the blue old mustangs" ya want. your never gunna catch us. Another little secret is... we even got some of you on our side....hahahahahaha. So poke your nose all ya want because you cant stop the unstopable. Yeah, this is really stupid. Does it really take a several month undercover investigation, confidential informants wearing hidden video cameras, and about 3 branches of law enforcement to crack down on a few street racers? Do you know how much drug trafficking went down while all of that was going on? What probably happened was one of the snot nose teenagers kept getting his tail spanked by faster cars so he ratted them all out. I’m sure the confidential informant had no other motive than public safety. If it's such a problem why didn’t they start patrolling the area better? They got to go waste a bunch of tax payers money to convict a dozen kids on misdemeanor charges and maybe impound one or 2 cars.

I bet they ran straight to the media with this story. The cops really like beating off to stuff like this. They love to do the whole "we're saving lives by cracking down" BS. Then you see them going about 100 mph down the expressway so they can go meet up with their other cop buddy's for lunch.

I really loved a comment one trooper made about his new V8 Dodge Charger. A he told one of my buddies "now we have something to catch up with sport bikes." Another friend of mine is related to a sheriff, the sheriff was told by a trooper that he would intentionally wreck a sport bike if they tried to run from him. The truth is they love to chase things and go fast themselves, but they have the law on their side to justify it. If they hit someone going 150 mph trying to catch a speeder then it was in the name of justice.

There are too many of cops and too much time on their hands. Yet I’m sure you can easily find a dozen streets in every city in NC where you can buy anything you want drug, prostitute, and gun related. Then you got places not so far away that are now loaded with gang activity and nothing seems to be getting done.

One other comment for you "gopolice" for what you said about where you put quotes on 'safer' when refering to the drag strip. Just because you go fast doesn't mean you are any less 'safer' than you are with half of the idiots out on the road. Like women who are putting on makeup in the mirror while driving, run a red light, and kill somebody. Or people talking on cell phones and run someone in the other lane off the road. Or riding someones tail and rear end the car in front of them. Or just not paying attention and pull out in front of someone.

I've gone 188 mph on a motorcycle legally at land speed and feel 'safer' doing that than I do riding on the road. I was doing 35 mph minding my own business when a SUV pulled out in front of me and sent me to the ER. My sholder and knee still bother me and it's been years. Now every time I see a car at a driveway or intersection I'm just waiting to get hit again.

I know people who have street raced. I myself and friend go to the drag strip. I can't count a single person who's been involved in a wreck in any form of racing. I can count a hand full who have been hit or had very near misses by other vehicles while driving legally.

its pretty much the same amout of risk when your driving down the road at 60 opposed to 100 its pretty much the same.
i actually feel safer at night goin a 120 in my mustang then i do when im going 65 down the highway at anytime of they day.

I'm 29 actually. Don't think you should be street racing and I don't do it myself, but what a waste of manpower and OUR MONEY. Let your car or home get broken into and see how much manpower gets put into getting your stuff back. They type up a report, stick some numbers in a database, and then it's forgotten.

Have you read a full news story on this? I mean they got Alcohol Law Enforcement agents involved in this, what the heck do they have to do with street racing? Have you seen pictures of the cars being searched after seizure. There's about 12 officers standing around looking into the trunk of a car. Does it really take that many people to search one car?

But like i said them troopers cant catch us. The city cops top out at 130 and troopers top out at 140. I drive a wrx and i outran a motorcycle cop easily. Get real! Personally i think if they really want to get anywhere with catching street racers or people running from the cops they should invest in better cars. Sure the v8 chargers have alot of horsepower but they weigh as much as a tank. Say for instance they all had wrx's. Just as much trunk room, saves a heck of alot more gas than that v8 gas guzzler, four-door, alot lighter, quicker, and its all wheel drive. So it has everything a 5000 pound cruiser has plus more. Theres not alot that a wrx cant catch, but theres a heck of alot that them crown vics cant catch.

Hey Brakez, you claim that street racing is not hurting anyone, correct? What if one of your family members was pulling out of there driveway and was hit by someone street racing and it took their life. There was a wreck because of street racers near where I live on High Point Road that killed an inocent man, don't give me that crap about it not hurting anyone. Who is going to pay for that fellas funeral, his house payments, his kids education? Go ask this guys family, his dad, mom, wife, kids, go ask them how they feel about street racing. Bunch of punks who think nothing is going to happen and no one is going to get hurt.

Brakez, you are freakin clueless, they didn't need to catch the guys by chasing them down, they were part of the click and got all of the info that they needed, hell some folks are so freaking stupid that they video and broadcast it all over the internet. They do not have to chase anyone. Y'all think you got it figured out, I did too back in my late teens and early 20's, I didn't know crap.
