I agree that politics have no place in town welcome or road signs. I also believe religion and state must be kept seperated. I remember a time when "liberal" was a very positive word, that is until the election year 1988. The term "conservative Christian" is a bit of a misanober today because they don't act, think or behave like true Christians (and those Hamas and al-Qaida types ain't true Muslims either) and they don't even fit the original definition of "conservative". The word for these people is really more like "fascist" - a word that is always ugly. "Communist" was not always the hideous emotionally loaded word it is today. "Socialist" is just a new scare word drawn from the hat to sway the masses in a certain direction. The term "Democrat" has many meanings around the planet. For years in South Korea that designated the ruling totalitarian dictatorship. Saddam Hussein's elite forces were the Iraqi Republican Guard. Saddam was the Mafioso-type big boss of Iraq, that ain't a "republic", is it? Names mean nothing, they change in use and meaning all the time. Cool people are cool, fools are dousche bags.

Looking back on the history of this country, who we all pretty much can say isn't in very good shape the REP PARTY(I DO NOT VOTE FOR EITHER OF THE BIG TWO)HAS BEEN IN CHARGE MORE TIMES THAN NOT.

The answer seems pretty clear to me.Of the two choices the REP party is not the way to go.

All Republicans are welcome at St Joseph Cathedral. However if you are a supporter of the current Commander in Chief you must do penance before communion.
Or else.
Or else they will file a false trespassing complaint against you. Even on the 4th of July. And leave your veterans flag outside the church. It taint welcome there.
32 years I suffered as a sex abuse victim/survivor at that place and this year it got that stinking low.
I will never settle for anything now less than total victory and reform of the faith.
For the true Cross and freedom from abuse of authority I will never vote for any Republican but John McCain or Ron Paul. And well..he never has a challenger but I like Ron O'Brian too.
No I aint got no ax to grind. Cant afford one.

What about mayor Mike coleman and his " Thanks for voting on bond money at work "
with democrate mike coleman all over the signs!
Most seen before Obama election, now the obama
(democRATS) administration is doing just that with
their " american recovery act ".
I've seen the sign (ARA) when they were only fixing
piece of broken curb!
we will take down those sign as well then!

I've seen those "ARA" signs as well, but they don't explicitly endorse a political party. The ARA is from the Obama administration but it could've been enacted by anyone. Yeah Obama is in the Democratic Party but do the signs mention that fact? Mike Coleman also is a Dem but one real problem he creates is all those "Commit To Be Fit" signs that substitutes for Broad Street and other Downtown streets. Also some other city street signs get "labeled" with references to the OSU Buckeyes, the Blue Jackets or whatever. That causes great confusion for some people. Still, there's nothing really wrong with those ARA signs as long as they don't credit the Dems and/or Repubs. Both parties are responsible for the mess we are in now.

Any sign erected by a county engineer's office /should/ look like an official sign erected by ODOT, because both are supposed to follow the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

To mark entry into a county, according to the MUTCD the sign probably should have simply said "ENTERING GREENE COUNTY", though I don't think it actually says whether or not a "welcome" message may be used. Certainly, it's inappropriate to identify the organization who paid for the sign, on the sign itself -- regardless of whom that might be.

Oh and the difference between these signs and the ARRA signs is this: the ARRA signs identify the source of funding for the construction project as a whole, not just the sign.
