Don't do it Daisy! The Cairo Town Board and Cairo Planning Board will cost you thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars, and hours and hours of headaches before you can ever open.
They are a bunch of anti-business types, with a super-regulatory, left-wing new planning law that is a giant obstacle to any new business coming to town.
Don't expect any other news businesses to open and help yours out.
The word is out: Cairo is bad for business!
Oh, that's too bad - the town has such potential and the residents deserve to have some input!

Please vote out the Town of Cairo, NY board.

They all need to go. This is a corrupt town where you do not want to do business.

We want your businesses, but they do not.

So, is there news? Is there a new Alden Terrace? Is the Town Board going to save the town or continue to do nothing at all?

D'oh! How many times does Sandy Mathes have to lecture you Cairo? You can't just approve your friends, you can't treat newcomers like dirt, you need some zoning, you have to apply the same rules to everyone, you have to fix your sewers, you have to act like a real town, before anyone writes you any stimulus checks or before any business will come to town. Sandy is telling them, "why not look at Athens, or Catskill" when they ask about Cairo.

Nobody is doing business in Cairo, until the place is cleaned up. "

Why don't you run for office if you think you can do a better job?

What a shame that Cairo has become the septic system of the county. If you don't want to work, come to Cairo. If you want to grocery shop in your pj's and slippers at 2:00 in the afternoon, come to Cairo. If you want to curse like a sailer in front of the only super market in town come to Cairo. I have lived in this town for 15 years and it makes me sick to see how our town has sunk to such low levels. We need businesses here both small and yes even large. We need jobs for those of us who want to work in our community and not have to commute an hour away. We need places to shop and more places to eat. We need rental property owners to think about their community more than their pockets. I suppose it's wonderful that the state can guarantee you the monthly rent and pay you for repairs when they trash the place, but I'am also sure you don.t live any where near your rental income apartments, possibly you don't even live in the county. Lets pull our heads out of the sand and take a real look at the problem and work together to restore our town to a wonderful place to live and raise a family and have a business.

Hello , you type" everything he did in "OUR" towns best interest" Were STATEN ISLAND. thats were your post is coming from. Do you live work in greene county? or do you just visit? Its easy to throw stones from STATEN ISLAND as far as corruption, well who knows, maybe it happens maybe it doesnt. I do agree with another poster on this topic.. Get Out to meetings Let your voice be heard, stop just typing about stuff and do something stop taking it in the #$@, Its Your town too. The more you hide in your homes and let people walk all over your voice will not be heard. Everyone is important everyones voice needs to be heard. What happened to taking your own polls talking with people. RESEARCH IT hell u have the internet LOOK IT UP. You have the key to the world at your keyboard USE IT.... This is the only time in history we as a people have information at our finger tips.I leave you with this 1 second from now this posting will be history. Learn from it and dont repeat it.

Development?? could be good could be bad. Walmart in cario? just too close to walmart catskill. Just like few # of years ago in Leeds on 23b they opened a big box home impovement store. Ok it did create alot of jobs but how many places did it put out of bussiness? Plus its now on its third Manager? The places it put out of bussiness you more than likely had the same same boss for 20years. local people who cared for the community.Who cared for their workers. Some times development isnt all that great. Low prices?????what are you giving up for low prices? Big Box stores Big Box agenda...Big Box corruption.

Big Box Corruption. Sure come to work on time for 4 years you can be a manager. Never graduated high school sure manager 200 people, Got caught sleeping on the job, we have a job for you. You would be shocked at the kinda crap that goes on in these big box stores. MONEY MONEY MONEY.... sure they bring jobs. Jobs that are filled with *@$ kissers looking to collect a paycheck and the people who work beyond what they should get pushed aside. No real honest commiment to their workers. possable leave small towns small.Change what you can in your small towns keep it loving and careing. Just my thoughts not right not wrong. Just Thoughts
