That was a rude statement - you would care if you did not have freedom.

I am interested to know if any of you that are the usual posters on here ever go to some other topix city and just post rude remarks, I don't get it - why would this person pick Lucedale and just say something ignorant. I agree they do not deserve to live in this country.

Rattle Kattle is probly one of them there big fat, lazy, nasty, cookie-eatin, hamburger-chompin lefty liberal kooks who needs to roll his/her sorry rear end off the couch from behind the laptop. He needs his/her cattle rattled. If I could, I would git my cattle prod to his sorry rear and put him on the first boat to Iran. I bet he wouldn't make such a stupid statement ther, or he would be throwed under the prison or worse. Thank God for America and its brave military and veterans. Vote Rick Perry in 2012 and accept Christ as yer Savior. May God Bless America!!!!

Sometimes you wonder why people do this service only to be ostracised by the very people they protect? Could it be that they care deeply enough to put their lives on the line so that others may live? And that all they really want is acknowledgement for the job that they do for the land, liberty and people they love and care so much for?

Scoop, I believe it is their own inadequacies coming to the surface....their own insecurities that they didn't have the courage to serve their country and have only served themselves.....if even that...

I don't understand your statement - I don't think any man ever became a soldier for glory - soldiers become heros because they are thrown into bad circumstances and they go above and beyond duty.

Many join the service and law enforcement for different reasons. I was referring to those who genuinely wanted to make a difference.

Many heroes are heroes for doing what there job dictates them to do. There not looking for glory or acknowledgement, just watching out for the men and women they serve with. A hero is another name for someone that gets a big "job well done". There are more people on topix looking for acknowledgement and glory than people in the military looking to be called hero.

I agree - I don't think anyone would stop and think "I want to be a hero" so I am going to help you. What someone thinks of me is less important to me than what I think of myself. I appreciate our war heros, most of them have suffered a big loss.
