I wish more sheriffs would stand up,and stop this abuse of power by Bob and his puppets.I live in houston county and they wouldnt even respond when 911 was called.I think Ison Thomas and Bobby Singleton are truly looking out for the people.Im a buisness owner in Houston county and would be glad to volunteer if the sheriff would take a stand here.

Let's take the time and think about this logically...

>Allowing Bingo to stay would keep many people working at the Bingo facilities...
>Allowing Bingo to stay would continue to stimulate the economy (local restaurants, gas stations, stores, etc...)which in turn means more jobs in the county...
>Allowing Bingo to stay would support a much needed stability relative to the tax base in a faltering economy...

Now I must ask what good would taking Bingo out of Greene County accomplish...
>It wouldn't reduce fact, with the loss of jobs and tax base to support law will probably lead to an increase in crime...
>It wouldn't make Greene County a better place to would only lead to Eutaw looking more like a ghost town...

>If handled correctly, this situation can turn into a WIN-WIN situation for all involved. It is a known fact that BINGO is very profitable and the current owners are reaping the benefits. Although money is being funneled towards education, the opportunity exists for lots more to be contributed. These monies can be used to form Safety Nets to keep Greene Co. students from falling behind or dropping out. These monies can also be used to fund a program that would make it easier for those adults that have not finished high school to go back and do so.
>Fund some of the road repairs in Greene Co. & other special projects...

What needs to happen is that the funding provided to the county needs to be so obvious that no one ever questions what is being done with the money. MAKE IT OBVIOUS!!! Create a atmosphere whereas when people look at things happening, they will say "Thank God for Greenetrack!"

With all that being said, I must point out that I will not lose one night of sleep whether it stays open or closes. I was raised in G.C. but haven't lived there in years. As a boy, I did work at the "Track" when it was open for live racing. Other than connection. I just still care about my home.

I'm more than certain that MS & GA are just waiting in the wings for the opportunity to get all of the revenue from the AL operations. Revenue that they use wisely...
