I believe that Campbellsville residents should stop asking there self what will others think of our town. That'S right stop thinking look what happen to e-town a few years later and several restaurants later ask them .Do you think we made the right choice the answer is hell ya look at our town now look at how we grew.

Yes we should vote to become a wet county. Gee...what would we do with our new jail if no alcohol offences....no really we sink all of our money into Lebanon, Etown etc, why not keep Taylor County's money at home and maybe we will grow!!!

Yes get all u can to work on adair county then we can quit fussing about the bootleggars. Being dry is not stopping people from getting alcohol, it's only making more DUI going so far to get it or making the bootlegger richer. This county could profit by it.

Adair County going wet legally will not stop the bootleggars from selling to underaged children and others. The deliveries to mail boxes has not stopped since I have lived here.
I once gave a ride to an individual that had gotten out of the hospital and on his way home he asked me to drive by a trailer and an individual asked him what he wanted.
He did not have enough money and asked me for money which I refused. He then went into a restaurant/pawn shop business got the money and bought the pint.
I took him home and told him to never to ask for a ride again. I did not know the drive through location was for alcohol that could be seen from the street by the previous sheriff.
The only practical way to have alcohol is either the restaurant license that E-town put in and or State owned liquor stores as the state of Tenn. has, and the profits go to the State and Counties.
Denying that alcohol is available in a dry county is nieve. Just like drugs, if there is a demand and money there is a source when the court system is elected.
selected enforcement of the law and the non-consification of assets and buildings would cure some of repeating their family business practices which came out in a divorce trial years ago.
You can not blame a particular religion as some do that oppose liquor sales. At least they will stand up and voice their opinions and bliefs, and I respect them for that. Anything in excess is a sin, and I like others are guilty of that.
The other idea would be for the sales to be on State on property such as the lake area with a restaurant.
Those that have to have a drink with meals at home should be able to buy enough with a visit to neighboring counties. If they can not they need to seek medical advice.
I support any vote and a public discussion of facts and satistics from law enforcement that will show the changes in counties that have gone wet.
I would oppose a group or individual ownership of the limited licenses that would be available.

It is going to be voted on in Columbia. We will have enough names on the petition to get it on the ballot.

Hey Ken,

Do you have some problem with people getting to vote on this. I could not imagine that you, of all people, would have an objection to the people getting to vote and decide this issue.

REGARDLESS OF WHAT ANYONE IN ADAIR COUNTY THINKS ALCOHOL SALES WILL BOOST OUR ECONOMY. IF ALL THE TREE HUGGERS WOULD SIT AND THINK ABOUT ALL THE REVENUE THAT THESE SALES GENERATE THEY WOULDN'T HAVE ANYTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT IT. AS FOR THE CONCERNS OF DRINKING & DRIVING OR UNDER AGE SALES THIS GOES ON IN THIS COUNTY ALREADY. BY MAKING IT LEGAL MORE RESTRICTIONS CAN BE PUT ON SALES OF ALCOHOL. STATISTICS SHOW THAT ADAIR COUNTY (DRY) HAS MORE ALCOHOL RELATED ACCIDENTS THAN THAT OF MARION COUNTY(WET). ALOT OF BUSINESS IS BEING MISSED BECAUSE OF A DRY TOWN.

Good luck with this...you'll need it. As Taylor Co found out last year way too many Bible thumpers and closet drinkers to make it work.

Most drink in adair and just hid it because the church will critize them. How silly is this, i will vote for it. Lets find someone with the courage to get the list and then when we vote it will pass.

Well, all those "church going" people of course will vote against it. They are "faithful" followers of God IN church but once out a bunch of butheads!!!! Little to be known the back doors of Liquor stores are most frequesntly used by them (oh yes----for medicinal purposes only. Het while they are at trying to stop the legal distribution of alcohol why not stop dancing because it leads to fornication!!!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!!

Simple the Bible says not to be a partaker of strong drink, nor to hang around them that do, i think if a business has to have a no smoking law that they should have a no drinking law, drinking offends me , just as smoking does some poeple, if you have a restruant seperate the drinkers in a seperate room, just like smokers, i do not want to sit beside some loud mouth drinking and telling about what all he or she can do. if you want to drink go to a wet county get drunk , go to jail pay your fine get out come home.

I like how the Bible is being used as an argument against this, even though Jesus turned water into wine and that wine was the most common drink for them in that time period.

All studies have shown that the number of DUI's drops sharply if people don't have to go out of town. I mean, really, how many patient people do you know?

And if drinking offends you, don't drink. And if other people drinking offends you, then grow up and realize it's not about you and it's selfish to think it should be.

Bottom line---who would argue that we the people have a RIGHT to decide? The argument about whether we ought to be wet or dry can be settled simply and fairly and constitutionally. PUT IT ON THE BALLOT.

Let's put this up before We the People and let us decide. Isn't everybody sick and tire of other people telling us what we will and will not do?

Used to be people were threatened with having the petition printed showing all those who signed. Well, good. Print it. All that shows is that those who sign (even those who don't personally drink) do believe that the citizens of this county should have the right to vote and decide.

Having the right to put it up to the vote is not a religious issue. If you have religious issues against drinking then don't do it. Most religious people i know feel strongly about the constitution and the right to vote. So let all sign the petition for simply the right for our people to choose. Enough said.
