Shooting a boy in the mouth and blowing the back of his head off is not an accident. I hope he goes to jail for a long long time. He does not deserve his freedom. These boys were not friends like it is being stated in some of the news. All the lies will come out and justice will be served but it is too bad that Dustin will not be here to tell his side of the story. Dustin will be loved and missed and GOD will be with him now.

first of off he didn't put the gun in the boy's mouth second of all his head wasn't blew off I am a relative of the boy and I was at the 11 yr olds funeral and it was open casket. Phillip Mcclain which is the corner stated that gun wasn't put in the boy's mouth that he was shot from 3 feet away. I feel that ppl that don't know the story needs to watch what they post...

No it's not anything to gossip about but I know more than you think I know I am a family member of the 15 yr old and I do agree about the parents being more responsible but I think whoever created this comment page needs to mind their own business and I think it's a bunch of bullshit and this is slander towards the family and there is actually a way to trace the ip address so whoever keeps posting this shit needs to stop. I did not say that the gun was put in his mouth I said that it went through his mouth and out the back of his head that is what I was told. Since then I have heard several diffrent stories on the events. At least you were able to be there to support OUR family in their time of need. I was told that it was an open casket as well and the service was beautiful. I am sorry for the way I started the last comment but I was so angry when I heard this I just could not beleive that this happened in my family. The whole incident is so tragic for both families involved. I do not think anyone will ever know exactly what happened so we just have to pray to god to help our family through this.

I need to clarify something, I beleive I read your statement wrong I am a relative to Dustin not to the boy accused
of shooting him. I do feel that this is a tragedy for all and prayer and time is all anyone will have to get through this. I do hope that the punishment fits the crime in this case because I agree murder is murder. My prayers go out to my family, I might not be able to be there to support them but they are forever in my thoughts and prayers.

None of us know what happened that night. We may never know what happened for that matter It upsets me and my family, to read this. Dustin's mother didn't leave him home alone over night while she worked, her 18 year old was with him. It doesn't make her a bad mother because she left him alone for a little while. She had to support her and her children. But on the night of the shooting Dustin was not allow to go to his brother's ballgame. All the what if's in the world are not going to change anything. Dustin was murdered. He was taken away from our family. As for the 15 year old, I don't have any sympathy for him. He knows what he has done and he has to live with that. My family is shattered because that 15 year old took Dustin's life. He got to choose for him and Dustin, how there lives where going to go. The sad part of it is Dustin lost his life, but the 15 year old is still living and breathing. When is punished for his crime, justice will be not be served. Unless he is going to be punished to the fate that Dustin received. I have no forgiveness for the 15 year old and probably never will.

Hello Family of Dustin. I went to school with Dustin's father Eric. How is he doing through all of this? I haven't seen him in years. I really hated to hear about it. It floored me when I read that he was Eric's son.

The 15 year old broke one of the 10 Commandments, which is Thou shall not kill. He didn't kill he murdered my cousin. That is not justifiable for him to go to Heaven. He broke the one of the 10 Commandments, there for he should not be in Heaven. As for me forgiving him, that is just not possible right now. If when I die, I haven't forgiven him, then I will get the consequences of my actions. All of us must accept the consequences of our actions. The 15 year old does not want to accept the consequences of his actions that is why he lied. He made the choice so he must deal with that.

Even though the last comment has been a while it is not right I am a friend of both families. I have known the 15 year old for a long time. It was not on purpose, He loved Dustin just like a little brother and played with him all the time. It was an accident and one of the 10 commandments dont really matter...how many times have you broken these commandments... honor thy father and mother, do not covet, do not lie, do not misuse the name of god. So you can not say he shouldn't go to heaven. The only reason you wouldn not go to heaven is if you weren't saved. So everyone can not say if it is on purpose or not but i personally think it was accedent just for the fact i knew both kids. And they were both great. So I feel bad for both families and the mother of dustin should have atleast found someone to watch him in my opinion but still it is not her fault or dustins or the 15 year old. You guys obviously do not know the "15 year old" he was a very kind and gentle person, who was mislead at home. He's the nicest person I've ever known, and obviously NONE of us know was ACTUALLY happened, so don't blame it on ANYONE until you know the TRUTH. I believe it was, actually, an accident. Even if it was, rumored, a 3-foot-range, THAT could be an accident. Sure, it is a tragedy, but please know the two boys BEFORE you go blaming someone, whether it be the "15-year-old" or not.
