Superior Court Judge Stephen Scarlett ruled Thursday that Edenfield had received a fair trial. Scarlett rejected Edenfield's assertion that he deserved a new trial on several grounds including because then-District Attorney Stephen Kelley called him "an animal" while arguing the jury should impose the death sentence.

"While this was an unfortunate statement made during the heat of argument, for which [Kelley] apologized, it is not a ground for a new trial ...

Why apologize when the truth is spoken? Only an animal would do something like this to a child. I will be so glad when all of these ANIMALS are put down.
