It's amazing, home values drop and real estate taxes go up- at the higher appraised value.

# 4 Whose fault is this? Ms. Garton was left holding the bag after Lane Ramsey left, and I am sure Garton has gotten to the bottom of things.
Ramsey did a good job trying to clean up, now Ms Garton has to handle the remainder.
This is very bad for some county employees.

It's terrible for the employees. Yet, no mention of the 14+ million dollars the county (read TA and Ressler) committed for the upgrade of the communication system. I'm not saying the communitcation system wasn't needed, but this board should tell the citizens and the employees the whole truth. And that truth is, they, this board, committed the county to an expensive communtication system and now, when the economy has tanked, the county can't afford it without a tax increase.

This board needs to be truthful about the budget debacle and not take it out on the backs of the employees.

But they won't. It should be interesting to see how TA handles this budget. She stated at her previous town hall meeting, from what I was told, that she was not in favor of layoffs for county employees. Let's see if she's truthful to her word, or will it be another nail in her political coffin.

I won't push this off on Lane Ramsey. This board backed itself in this position when they won election, spouting the "no tax" issue when TA pushed the communication system. And when the bill came in last year, she didn't mention the need for a tax increase. Typical politician, budget for a big ticket item, then look for cuts in the current budget to make themselves look good.

And who pays for it....the employees

Not everyboby's appraisals did. There are still a lot of properties that for some reason kept lower appraisals. Go to the county website and plug in a few street addresses and see how they differ.

Oh...I really like Lane Ramsey and think he did a great job while there, I am sure he filled Ms Garton in on all aspects of the 4.
I would even go as far to say, TA etal are fearful of Ms. Garton and her knowledge of every detail post and present per Lane Ramsey.
As Ms Garton stated, that budget is the worst she has seen. I agree with always......

I really don't think there is room for another nail in her political coffin.

JM, TA etal are all " dead in the water ", regarding politics. Boy Howdy! Unethical is
trumping louder and louder regarding the 4. & Woodard should have listend to Whitley, NOT TA .
That was his downfall.
