Well, we disagree again. I've seen Ressler in action and she isn't a nice person. I have always been courteous, polite and respectful to her, yet I've seen a side of her that is anything but nice. And it wasn't directed at me, but her voicing her opinions in a way politicians shouldn't. I don't think she knew I heard her, but I did and it was a deliberate slam on someone who disagreed with her.
So I'm sure she's nice to you, but I know for a fact when you're not around ( and not saying you directly, but people she has been "nice" to their face) she'll take a shot at you when talking to others. Just beware. When she's nice to your face, she may be stabbing you in the back.
She may. But doesn't seem like that type of person. But that toatlly diverges from my point. I see a large group of people in Gloucester who walk in with a 'chip' on their shoulder.......and being nice in return always softens a heart, wouldn't you agree?

So you're calling the Circuit Court Judge of Gloucester, a judge in good standing, who appointed a lawyer, in good standing with the BAR, that has volumes of experience in local government including reassessments, good ole boys because Ressler wouldn't do her job and select five appointees for the Board of Equalization and left it up to the Judge.+
You're calling them good ole boys because you were picked. Sounds like sour grapes to me.
NO! MR's interpretation of the law was that it is the JUDGE's responisibility to pick from a list from the suggestions. Whether that is right or wrong, I guess is subject to more interpretation. She was not shucking her responsibility. If you believe that, then you MUST BE FAIR and accuse ALL the rest of the board of the same sin. Picking one out like that shows a prejudice and disregard for the facts.

Sorry, but the BOE is to take in information about assessments that property owners may not agree and have informed citizens on a panel to make a decision as to what the assessment should be. Go look at the standards, it's not just about being a citizen but rather have a background that can render a sound and fair judgement. So I'd like to see someone like Danny Stuck with his background and knowledge.

Being nice does soften the heart, but I don't agree with you on the "large group of people....who walk in with a 'chip' on their shoulder". I find it just the opposite. The people in Gloucester have always been very friendly, courtesy and helpful. That is why I've made it my home over the past twenty years.

Sorry, but sending five names to the judge is what has done in the past, including the last time there was a BOE. And Ressler didn't have any qualms about it then. And she was the one insisting on sending eight names to the judge, so that is why I singled her out.

What you call not being fair, I call pointing out the truth. You need to go back over the years and see how it has been done in the past. And while I am not saying it's the right way, I'm saying she didn't have a problem with it until she was thrust back into the minority. And I feel the majority of the board accomodated her without agreeing with her. It is my opinion they didn't think it was worth the fight.

No, she was postulating on the list going to the judge long before the power balance changed. LONG BEFORE. And her feeling was that 'yes it was done that way in the past' but it doesn't make it right. I don't have the code that calls the action on this matter for reference, do you? And when did you decide to finally be so civil in talking with me? Kind of nice for a change.

We only agree about half the time on topics, but she is always curteous. My suspicion is that you are not nice to her. When you think someone is not nice to you, I would bet that you are not nice to them. They may not even know that you thought they were not nice to you, and now you have PURPOSEFULLY been not nice to them. That makes YOU at fault. If you want to fix the situation, YOU need to be the nice one.
Oh Bill, you are so wise. She is nice and courteous to you unless you cross her or press her on a certain topic and then
she ain't nice no more.
And you best be careful with the "Sambo" label. Certain people would be very offended by that.

So she says, but her actions don't follow that lead. You've only been here for two years. I've watched her for six. If she was "postulating" on the list, she never mentioned it before. And if it meant that much to her, why didn't she step up and say something before? She's never been intimidated into keeping quiet so I can't understand why you would think she would wait until now. No, I don't believe it.

The code is very simple. The circuit court judge appoints five members to the BOE from names fowarded by the Board of Supervisors. While there is no set (other than 5 at a minimum) number required for submission, it has been generally assumed that the Board has selected qualified people who will serve in the best interest of the public and county. The judge usually doesn't get directly involved in "chosing", at least over the past 20 years that I can remember.

For someone who has been espousing others to be nice, I've been civil for the most part. You have taken my disagreements with your stance as mocking you. I've rarely called you names and pointed out to you when you've slammed the whole county by belittling a GHS education. That's when we got off on the wrong foot. But you don't remember.

Yes, but the topic needs to stay fresh in peoples minds because now that things have settled down a bit, I don't want Ressler to get off easy and win re-election. People need to remember because, those who forget the lessons of history are destine to repeat them.

Dr. D. supports causes, not 'people', except for the morons at the daily press. He supports Danny, so I'm a bit bewildered by your stupidity. Can you read words with 5 or more letters?

I think you might want to go back like a failed student, and re read the post. Congrats to Danny- with the remaining post opposing Bill's ongoing mental trials by fire of just being stupid and enjoying it all. Idiot.
