Ex-cop guilty of '60s shooting fears jail attack
James Bonard Fowler's plea deal allows the 77-year-old white man to serve his six-month sentence near his home in Geneva County, rather than in predominantly black Perry County, where his victim is memorialized as a martyr of the civil rights movement.

Our Judicial system is very much screwed up. How does anyone (cop or no cop) recieve 6 months for killing someone??? I have a felony thats 14 years old because i did not report my income for five months(subsidized housing) and can't get it expunged because of previous convictions, pedi-theft at the age of 18 and another pedi-theft at age 21. So it's like i'm not forgiven. But this guy killed someone and it looks like he has been forgiven.. to only have to serve 6 months for a crime comitted in the 60's. Maybe i have to wait 50 years....bs!

Go down to Geneva Co. in Ala and see for yourself. They still think in pre-civil war times.
