The two drag cars did not collid on the track. Dragster rolled after turning shapely to miss the other car. Once the drag car hit the guard rails. The racer was killed..

My condolences to the family . That being said I have this question . I am told that the car that hit the guardrail had earlier in the day had trouble stopping and that he was downshifting to get it stopped . Also the car had no chute. If any of this is true , How did this car get thru Tech !
I used to race at this track in the 70's in a front engine dragster and I know how hard it was to get a car stopped on that track
