Certainly is good to know that this man is in custody and no one was injured, except for himself. Wonder where he got the vehicle to be able to get from Geary Co. to Dover?

I read that he stole that vehicle, too.
He didn't sound very smart, to break into that couple's house and then go to sleep....what did he think they would do while he was sleeping, sit around and watch TV???

Might want to talk to some of the residents on Lower McDowell. The keystone cop fiasco out there this past weekend would be funny if it wasn't so real. Not only was it apparently sorely mishandled by the local authorities but the KBI folks also were pretty inept. How do you search a 2 mile radius of an accident with 50 or so people and not find anyone? Did any of the authorities ask for local help regarding terrain, possible hiding places, topography? And why wasn't anyone notified when the suspect had left the area? Not one word on our "No. 1 place for local news and information", kjck radio. Lots of people with loaded guns and locked doors until well into Saturday afternoon. Congratulations local and state authorities, really good job!!!!

I so agree with jcman...I LIVE on MCDowell Creek and how this was handle by the KBI was nothing but a laughing joke. This suspect was in the area for almost 24 hours and never stayed within 2 miles from where he wrecked...and ended up in Dover Kansas..what a pure joke! Oh sure he was "seen" by a female KBI officer and no one still couldn't catch him...their idea of locating him was by 4 wheeler, gators, helicopters... UH excuse me but what ever happened to get on "FOOT" to search. Driving around the county roads and posting on top of hillsides/pastures was their idea of tracking??? Heck the guy stole the vechicle and drove right by the authorties and my own neighbor was the one who pointed out "hey isn't that Mr.**** stolen car?" Sad just very sad but I don't blame GCSO--they was doing as told by the KBI -- If I was the couple in Dover, I go find some ambulance chasing attorney and sue the ever living s*** out these agencies for letting him loose and end up in their home held hostage -- Just how "smart" are they (KBI)--none because they sure lack in "common sense".

Murder, kidnapping, vehicle theft, evasion, now it comes out he was a White Supremest and a Racist.
He killed a black guy, kidnapped a Dover couple, held them hostage, fell asleep, got shot...and some homo from Missouri is defending him?!
They don't raise 'em very smart in Missouri, do they?

I just want to know how are you so sure that things were handled so poorly? Not only do I pose this question to the "chore girl" I also want to hear from JC man, a "fiasco" you call it? You two have no idea what took place out there. And I know what your response is going to be something like, "I have friends out there" or "my cousin, sister, uncle, brother, mother, grandpa, ect... who lives ther said." BULL !!! I challenge you to show the readers proof of your involvment in the hunt for this mam. Show us how "smart" you think you really are and tell us all how you two mental giants with all your experience and knowledge of hunting a human, would have handled this very dangerous situation. And have been home in time for supper... Oh yeah! chore girl, who was that neighboor of yours that had to point out to the "fumbling idoit keystone cops" there goes the stolen vehicle? I REALLY would like to hear your answer to that. You two make me laugh reading your pathetic two cents, as if you know what is going on. Those men and women WALKED and WALKED the high ground and the low ground, used dogs, used vehicles and information gathered from the residents, who were involved in the search as much as they could be. I watched this from a front row seat and saw all the blood sweat and tears that went into it. The cops showed an unrelentless determination to find this guy. They wanted to get him before he had the chance to hurt anyone else, and guess what that is what happend. No residents of Geary CO. were harmed during this dangerous time. Those men and women have absolutly nothing to be ashamed of. I for one will tell you that I could not have done this myself. JOB WELL DONE BOYS AND GIRLS IN BLUE !!!! JOB WELL DONE!!! I eagerly await your answers you two. This should be very intresting...

Doesn't sound like a very efficient job to me.

After thinking about this I have decided to not to get into an argument about this. It really is futile. From what I saw out here I saw cops in every nook and cranny, at every house, and every shed. I was not a searcher, I am not a cop, I live out here and just want to tell you what I saw. It just made me so mad reading those posts about how dumb the cops looked. However I do realize that everyone will have a different preception of what took place. They worked hard! I guess thats the point I really want to make.

Why don't you people go put in an application at the Geary County Sheriff's Department if you think you can do it so much better. These Deputies worked thier butts off Friday thru Saturday to catch that idiot. I don't care how well staffed a department is there are going to be times when the bad guy slips through and gets away. In recent years the law enforcment officers in this area have done a GREAT job in catching criminals. They did take into account intel from local residents and they were on foot through fields and pastures, trees and brush. And for the record the idiot had shoes on!(that's directed at you Hmmmmm) And let me tell you Chore Girl, just because you LIVE on McDowell Creek, doesn't mean you no know crap about the situation. If you did you would know that the Deputies and KBI agents were on foot. The Deputies worked hard out there and if you don't like the way it was handled then go apply at the Sheriff's Department and do it yourself!

KBI was not the problem. Too many chiefs and not enough indians was the problem. KBI Agents were up to thier chest's walking through creeks and walking through milo fields. I commend ALL law enforcement who was involved and came together as a team to try and capture this guy.

I commend ALL law enforcement who was involved and came together as a team to try and capture this guy. I cannot agree more with the not enough indians theory. Plains indians by nature were "hunters" not "wait on 'ems". However the chiefs calling the shots on this little nature hike should be, at the very least, busted down to writing parking tickets off of Schwinns in downtown Matfield Green. Any time an "armed" (and I use that term loosely) fugitive has the next move teletyped to him (i.e. circling KHP chopper for several hours then landing it and telling the indians to stay put until it cools off in the evening for fear of compromising the infared technology aboard said chopper thus giving suspect plenty of time to plan his next move) one should only pray that fugitive is apprehended in Dover and not sunbathing in Cancun. I am not a "man hunter" by trade, but have hunted a few, more armed, both physically and mentally than the intellectual giant we are discussing. With no more training than a day at boy scout camp this individual would be sipping Mai Tais and singing jamboree songs. I commend the "indians" on the hunt but the chiefs should be using their war bonnets as band-aids for the battle wounds they received on this little cluster-flop. Men and women put their lives on the line only to laughed at due to the ineptitude of their superiors. If there is a "next time", by God, let 'em hunt!!!!

I agree with Do it urself then. Stop complaining and go out there and apply for the job if you think you can do it better. I live in Junction City as well and they may not have caught the guy here but because of the law enforcement agencies who got together and worked hard at trying to catch him no one in JC was harmed. I've seen and heard it all. These officers work hard at trying to keep people safe. I bet most of you have a nice safe job that you go to where you don't have to worry about people pulling a knife or gun on you when your trying to help them. Yeah they chose this job, but if they weren't there, who you going to call when you need help. And don't think they do it for the pay, because I can tell you they don't get paid half of what they should get paid. It's not an easy job. Why don't you look up the life expectancy of a police officer. It's not pretty. You should be thanking them for putting their lives and their families lives on the line to protect yours. When your husband or wife has to carry around a gun ON and OFF duty where ever they go to protect themselves and their family from idiots who decide they want pay back after they got caught breaking the law then you can say something. I just want to tell all the Law Enforcement Officers out there THANK YOU!!!
