Why does he not have to pay back the money he stole from the taxpayers?

This is not right. Rips the taxpayers off for 60 grand and doesn,t go to prison? Makes me wonder who got paid what. Our justice system is truly broken! Guvco breaks our backs with taxes and acts like oh well we will just squeeze them billfolds a little tighter.

At $3.75/gal, that would be 16,000 gallons of gas. If his vehicle gets 22 miles per gallon that is 352,000 miles. Either others need to charged in this crime, or he should be labeled a terrorist as he was obviously making bombs.

Exactly. If no prison? then why isn't he giving up his accomplices? Why aren't others involved?

Hell! We still got the Same City Manager.

Its NOT the first or ONLY time its happened either.

Oh! but for a REAL Audit? Who knows how much money has gone missing over the past ten years.

That's right people. Take it and ask for some more.

Big news, they have pulled it again. Not gonna happen. As for the gas thing, it makes me wonder. Seems like our d.a. could have won this one. Or do we have a judge who is out of touch with the taxpayers?

Not disagreeing with you, but it sounds to me like a plea deal. There's no way to prove it was him at the pump every time when someone could have quite easily copied his credit card number onto another card - It really is incredibly easy.

It's just a bunch of numbers stored magnetically on a strip of plastic.

Easy as copying a cassette tape or DVD. With a full jury, it would have been a piece of cake for his defence attorney to put significant doubt that it was him every time.

I don't like it better than any of y'all do, but at least he now has a criminal record.

In its own sad way I,m afraid it wil hurt a race of people. Maybe make it harder for them to get a job where honesty is a must. This went on for a while. I,m more concerned about the accounting practices this city has.

It has nothing to do with race. He's a thief. The so call justice system is unjust to the honest working tax paying citizen that pays their salary, if he only gets a slap on his wrist. Also, where is the checks and balances in Belmont's expense reporting? Not missing a cc for two years? Really?

no words for this injustice to the honest people/taxpayers!!!!!!!!!! He needs to be in the "think tank" for a good 10 yrs. in adDition to wearing a sandwich sign saying "I AM A FN CRIMINAL, PATHETIC THIEF AND WALK AROUND 8/HRS. A DAY FOR 1 YEAR. I can live with that sentence. Gaston Co. judges, da's and policia are as corrupt as the Mexican policia. Nuff said.

Strange, why are they locking this guy Jerry up? Two other guys ripped people off and only got probation? Are we under quota on white guys in the pen?
