Pulling for Mount Holly

Not only would people from Mt Holly benefit health-wise, but the ER would also be a business boost. The opposing group (from Charlotte) CMC just want to stop the ER because of money. The Charlotte group is putting greed ahead of what the local people want AND what they need in the area. STAY iN CHARLOTTE CMC! Quit trying to screw with MT HOLLY!

CMC Charlotte should build not Caromont. They are a better hospital and hospital care should not be monopolized. We should have a choice.

They are not a better hospital--but that is not even the point. Why not get informed before you type?

CMC is trying to "monopolize care" in the entire region---don't show your ignorance.

I am very informed and what you say is a matter of opinion.

Brent--It would be built across Hwy 27 (east Charlotte Ave) from the new City Hall of Mt Holly. A lot of the site is already cleared. It would be where the old mill was that they hauled away.

I have heard that there would be about 80 plus new jobs (approx 10 physicians) and really help to put Mt Holly on the map. Not only that, it would provide "close care" to Mt Holly residents and folks that need care more quickly from our area.

And I also have been to the meetings and you are wrong. When something goes into the appeals process it can take years before something is ever built. For instance, in Rock Hill, two health care organizations have been fighting back and forth in appeals for 10 years now to build a new hospital there.

Would get behind this thing it could go. That it will take 10 years is a very negative view. There are plenty of other situations where the deal goes through. This would be good for Mt Holly and for all the negative crap spewed on this site, it would be great to see Mt Holly pull together to get something positive for the community.

City Council is pulling for Caromont, that should tell us something. Council and the mayor has been promised a windfall of rental of retail space and other perks for the town. CHS should have stepped up to the plate.

to Dr. Lee Beatty, wasn't he the CMC man? He's on the board of the MHCDF, surely he has the ear of the mayor and council about this matter as well.

what happened to your reasoning ability---new jobs and development inside the city and very close in town....what happened? This is an opportunity for our town. We should get behind it. It can make all the ships float higher in the water. Don't be short-sighted and ignorant of this fact. This has nothing to do with the WWC or Greenways DUH!!!!????? "What Happened" sounds like an idiot with these comments please tell us all that you are just slow and misguided?!

what happened is last night I stood in awe at the many ships that need to float higher and the bustling downtown and somewhere along the way all this did overwhelm and misguide me. How could I be so misguided as to think someone gives a damn about the people of Mt. Holly?

maybe the ER can get its customers from WWC injuries or muggings off the greenway. it sure is convenient to have a doctor nearby to remove the shank out of my ass.

Or perhaps there will be a bed there should you need it and they save your life instead of waiting at Gaston Mem., to be seen.

I apologize. You are correct. We should have an ER built in every town in this county just in case.
