I'm thankful for Bill Toole and anyone who will stand up against this insane road that wastes the people's money and disrupts lives.

it is essential for the growth of the large land owners in the area. as far as the poorer folks who work for a living and will be uprooted or have their homes surrounded by hiways and businesses, it sucks.

I am so looking forward to the parkway and everything that it brings with it. Cannot wait..although I do feel empathy for those that are being forced out of their homes.

It was a personal attack on Bill Toole. Unfortunately for the people who WANT the toll road, there are hundreds in Gaston County that do NOT want it. Stowe- you are biased because of land investment. You and Pittenger and Hoyle and Current and this Edwards- who owns 80 acres right next to the route that he bought in 2007- politically aligned that route so you could benefit.

The rich want to stay richer and drive the poor out.

People of Gaston County: unite and kick this thing out.

Let's state the facts:

Lots of things in that letter that were not factual, and Mr. Edwards talked about toll road opponents being against the road and how unjust that was. He failed to mention about the 80 acres he bought in 2007 right next to the slated route for the parkway.

Facts, friend, not a personal attack. LOL.

That person who wrote the letter to the Gazette owns land on the route? Why didn't he mention that?

Dana Bumgardner, a staunch Republican, is against this road. Think it was funny that only the Democrat candidates were mentioned in that letter.

Sneaky and stupid.

People who are familiar with NC DOT know of its storied past of corruption and being run by political contributors of Elected Officials.

I had gotten SO BAD? that they (Crooks) didn't even hide it nor feel ashamed of UNJUST WORLDLY GAINS.

The Garden Parkway is the Poster Child of this insider govt corruption. Much the same as most see on the TV everyday now as the light of day shines on the Back Rooms of yesteryear.(waxin' poetic;)

The REAL money is made after the road and bulk land sales when the SAME crooks also control the banks which will profit greatly upon any development.

These "deals" are always in back rooms YEARS before the PUBLIC ever gets wind of the Best Laid Plans of Gaston's Men and Mice.

NOW? When confronted and caught with hands in People's Cookie Jar? They show their greed in rationalizing these plans with lies and half truths.

The NC Senate's Legal Counsel! wrote his OPINION that these assholes did not break laws and shred any form of ethical behavior in business. IN PLAIN DEFIANCE OF WRITTEN LAW. WHY? Cuz they'd have to throw most of our Elected Officials in JAIL. How widesrpead the practice is.

Instead of talking about more toll roads? We should be asking the Atty General why he isn't indicting people.

Growth is indeed inevitable. I am not looking forward to the change that the parkway will bring, but am glad our city and regional leaders are thinking ahead.
I would like the parkway much better if it didn't have toll booths and had pedestrian access.

Where did these Malcolms' come from. You cannot even pull over on the shoulder of a highway if one has a flat for example without putting yourself in harms way. Pedestrian access-this is insanity at its best. Go see The Wizard for a few brains Malcolms'.

It is up to the people to help make the decisions about right and road. That is democracy. The people of North Carolina do not want this road. I bet the Toll Road people would be scared if this whole road issue would be voted on by the voters not the politicians in North Carolina. It would be eliminated.
