seems as though nobody is really commenting on something that really counts...i will.

the government in whole needs to step up. this is something that needs to be keep up with.grant i don't know the number of child predators in fulton county..but still if they can spend billions of our tax paying dollars to keep killers like brian nikols safe in jail...then they can spend that money keeping up with ppl who prey on our children. especially considering everytime you turn on the news, a child or teenager is missing.
yeah its the parent who should know where and what and who their kids are around...but on that..their are so many single parent homes.so many parents who can't afford childcare and don't have a support system.
things ain't how they use to be.
when i was growing up i had several neighborhood mothers who made sure i got to my house while my parents worked..and if they thought they saw me outside or saw someone suspicious....they handled it.

You said it right, its not like it was years ago. We didnt have to worry as much about leaving our children home. Now you cant even trust your neighbor because you really dont know who they are. Its unfortunate that the government fails our children. They always have. They can afford to send people to the moon for billions of dollars but they cant protect our kids. When it comes to child care you cant even get help because you work too many hours to support your household and they consider it more income. It costs about 150 to 200 dollars a week for child care. The government takes from us all the time but when we need help they tell you to work two jobs. The system needs to be revised but who will do it?

i feel you...you would think that the parents would pull together and shield our children...especially single parent homes. it seems today more ppl are concerned about michael vick and his dogs than our children being kidnapped, raped and killed.

I am a grandmother of 10 and work everyday, but still help as much as possible if needed. I had family to look out for my boys as I too was a singke parent. I agree, it is awful the way the sorry women can get food stamps,Section 8 and welfare, move a man in with an Escalade and live happily ever after while a hard-working parent: man or woman makes too much to get help and pass out the ying yang for childcare and healthcare. Our govt. sux - maybe Obama will do better - somehow, I think not!!!
