No, Larry Funk doesn't have a doctorate, so he's not a professor of anything.

Dan Pellicano is a businessman...of what? Is he ashamed of what he does, or doesn't he do anything.

Keller is okay.

I don't know what the mil rate was 16 years ago when THOMAS took office (not available). But if I go back as far as the PUBLIC COUNTY records show, the mil rate has increased 126% in 10 years, from 10.00 to 22.55. I THINK ANY FOOL COULD BALANCE THAT BUDGET!!! GO ahead BOB brag!!! PEOPLE OF FRANKLIN COUNTY OPEN YOUR EYES!!

I’m proud to say I know Dan and I’ve been out in the community asking people for support. So sad to find out THOMAS IS SPREADING LIES ABOUT PELLICANO!!! Is that what it’s really going to take to win? SHAME ON YOU BOB!!!! Interesting the “UNBIASED PUBLIC OPINION” only allowed the challengers a couple lines in this article. And I suppose it’s an INNOCENT MISTAKE the PUBLIC OPINION neglected to publish DAN’S EDUCATION. How slanted can you get???

Visit the WEBSITE www.electdanpellicano.com and learn about Dan's background and get testimonies from people he's worked with for years... unless of course you prefer being part of the THOMAS TEAM simply SPREADING LIES and thinking IGNORANCE IS BLISS!!

So you know the people and other legislative personnel. Would hope you would after 16 years. Being a good schmoozer doesn’t make you a good commissioner!!!

Interesting that most of those who claim Obama's election was "change for the sake of change" are promoting change for the sake of change locally!
Back in ironic reality, however, Obama's election was change for the better, moving the nation from near disaster to at the very least, the comeback trail. Change locally, meanwhile, would truly be a case of change for the sake of change since our county really does have one of the very lowest tax rates in the state while remaining fiscally sound. Pay attention, people!

YES, PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE! Low taxes are not a credit to our incumbents. 138% increase in 10 years! Check out the county site. You can do the calculation yourself. With a track record like that, it won't remain one of the lowest for long!!!

You really need to do your math. This is so far from the truth. Do some honest research. Our taxes are actually higher than most of the other class 5 counties!

But like I said, you need to do some HONEST research and some math to figure this out.

BOB - You're trying to muddy the waters on the COURT HOUSE ISSUE TOO! ONLY 2 million to renovate!!! Why aren't you publicizing the REAL COST OF THE PROJECT - purchase of buildings last year, cost to relocate offices, etc. You have NO CLUE how long this will fix the court house. Plus, you haven't addressed any of the other parts of the county plan. The “SUPPOSED CROWDING” at the courthouse was only one part of the 60 MILLION DOLLAR PLAN. OH WAIT I GET IT - you just plan to just NICKEL AND DIME THE PUBLIC FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS. People it’s time for change.

The reason that the mil rate continues to increase, is to account appreciation for in real estate. Because this county has not been re-assessed in forever, the only way assessment based revenues ever increase is to increase the millage.

The more important view of the impacts is to consider the taxes in relation to the appraised, rather than the assessed value of Franklin County Real Estate. With one of the lowest tax rates in the state, it's very difficult to complain that our taxes are too high, and it's a shame that a math "professor" isn't more proficient with numbers.

Any time the PO supports something or person(s), watch out. It's very clear who the PO supports and who they do not.

Fair and balanced reporting, I think not, MS. Taylor.

So let me understand this... The Commissioners increased the mil rate to keep up with the value of houses during the prosperous economy ending in 2006. So shouldn’t it follow, since the value of homes has decreased 30% in the last 5 years the mil rate should have lowered??? NO! It made more sense to raise them another 20%. Go back to sleep!!

theFUNK cries about liberal "tax and spend" policies, but in his time as Republican Party Treasurer, he signed off on every improper expenditure that his mentor Jim Taylor wanted and helped drain the treasury. The new Chairman directed an audit, over theFUNK's objections, so we'll see what happens. Pellicano can't be trusted either, according to inside sources. He only wants a steady paycheck.
