I can understand going paperless, but its not going to save Franklin County any money or overhead. Its just going to give more of the overloaded employees more time to spend at the water cooler doing nothing. If you are going to upgrade systems then it should save money other then just on saving paper.

Hopefully there will be a form online that will allow fire departments to request audio tapes of transmissions made over the public safety radio system. I understand that one of your county's fire departments recently got the run-around for weeks after they asked for a copy of the 911 call, the dispatch, and the fireground communications from an incident where a firefighter was seriously injured. This lengthy and unreasonable delay would likely impede the investigation of this unfortunate incident, if, in fact, this feet-dragging occurred, and I have heard from multiple sources that it did. In many counties, a simple one-page form is all it takes to get copies of fire radio transmissions.

Why bother putting the jobs on line, it seems like they always pick their preferred favorites over those who have the actual skills, like the lady manager from the transportation department who had all of the applicants show up for a “group” meet and greet session and made the statement “I wanted to meet with you in a group setting so I can see what you look like, from there I can whittle the list down to two or three that I will bring back for an interview” I wish I would have recorded that, as this screams discrimination and should be addressed.

They need to put records online like most counties. For instance, the property transfers and deed recordings for instance. Other public records should be online and accessible in this day and age. It takes no more time to scan/save a record than it does to file it away somewhere.
