Can you explain then why 9 of the top 10 richest US Senators are Democrats?
And that proves what? Most members of Congress are millionaires and are totally out of touch with the average citizen. I'm running as an Independent because neither party represents the middle class.

''''an eligible individual usually receives WIC benefits from 6 months to a year''''
Length of Participation:
WIC is a short-term program. Therefore, a participant will "graduate" at the end of one or more certification periods. A certification period is the length of time a WIC participant is eligible to receive benefits. Depending on whether the individual is pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding, an infant, or a child, an eligible individual usually receives WIC benefits from 6 months to a year, at which time she/he must reapply.

that is what is known commonly as recertification...just as aparticipant would recertify every so often for benfits such as SNAP. However, you are no longer eligible to recieve benefits beyond 5 yrs old 9age of qualifying child(ren)...unless there is another pregnancy or other younger children

Take the 51,000 inmates and dump them in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. Imagine the money the state would save. Simple solution.

You can't stand what is written so you change it to suit you !
That's known as lying!

BTW it also says ''''''short term'''''..

It's remarkable that it's laid down in black and white and you refuse to acknowledge it!

Don't waste your breath, Dave. He's worried about making sure any illegal votes aren't cast - that's a reasonable concern. However, that has gone on on both sides of the fence for generations, and not always because of fraud; example: people vote absentee because they are unable to get to the polls at the designated time and then die in the meantime. He knows the GOP doesn't have a viable candidate, so he thinks that elimination of any possible improper votes might better his candidates chances.
His link provides information for people who are older than 12 and have never had a SS card before. That does not happen very often anymore, but it helps his argument so he points to it. Newborns come home from the hospital with their Social Security Number already applied for - that has been the norm since at least 1978, when my son was born. And I did not have to provide a copy of the hospital nursery photo to get the number for him. Also, you don't have to go down to the SS office to apply for SS benefits anymore - you can do it online, and you don't provide copies of your birth certificate or driver's license when submitting your application. There ARE instances where people don't have photo IDs these days, but thanx to the Patriot Act, they are becoming rarer and rarer. That said, I have never been asked for my photo ID at my polling place.
'''His link provides information for people who are older than 12 and have never had a SS card before.''''

A classic example of a morons response!

The whole debate is about 'voter suppression' and 'photo ID'-- when do 12 year olds vote?

Are you a box of rocks or just a cheap imitation?

I think you need to look in the mirror next time you have the urge to call somebody a moron. I mean, what does you link have to do with the conversation? It's YOUR link; I'm just explaining that the information YOUR link offers is basically useless unless you are older than 12 and have never had a Social Security card. Since the Patriot Act, that almost never happens, so your link is a waste.

But you're not man enough to admit it, so we'll just have to endure your rants and raves in an attempt to prove your point. Whatever. I've got better things to do; Good night to those of you who have some sense.

You know LJ, you're just like a toy poodle who thinks it's a Great Dane; you make a lot of noise, but you don't have anything to put behind it. We acknowledge your yapping, now go in the corner and "groom" yourself.

I guess you can read it whatever way you want to, but I've been on it in the past, so I have a clue how it works. I also know, that when you decide you want off, they bug you to go back on.
So, there's no need to get all snarky, and get your blood pressure up.
