$20 says Bob Thomas wrote this himself and had Dan Whaley put his name on it.

Bob Thomas is a proven leader. He should be re-elected. Experience counts. It counts a lot.

I don't know Bob Thomas.

I do know Franklin County does well in comparison with other counties.

It doesn't happen by accident.

The writer of the LTE knows Thomas 1 year, met him once and writes a glowing letter declaring Thomas servesthe county well. This endorsement is less than meaningless.

When Bob Thomas was first elected, Franklin County had ZERO (yes ZERO) debt & 10 million plus in CDs in the bank. 16 years later - Franklin County is 60 Million plus in debt and he has spent that 10 million he inherited in CDs. Yeah, just the kind of guy I want to keep in there - right!

There goes the WIDE MAN again, bouncing different names across a bunch of servers to try to hide his identity.
Why don't you stick to the facts and point out the 130% increase in taxes in the last 10 years. King Thomas reigned during that. And how do you try to force a $50m project down folks throat, only to tell them SIX MONTHS LATER you can do it for $2M? Again King Thomas reigned during that. He thinks some glad handing and a letter from a person he met once is sufficient to sway the local electorate? Yes King Thomas does, because while he is running around glad handing people, back at the Castle of Commissioners he is robbing their pocketbooks! He things the voters are fools. Well King Thomas is just a court jester, and everyone has become aware of that. Talk about needing a job? What skills does Thomas have to offer the private sector when he LOSES next week?
Oh and Mr Racist DW, don't pretend to speak Spanish when you can't translate it properly. You are insulting real Spaniards!

On the flip side, you can be penny-wise and pound-foolish. Numbers can be whatever you want I guess. He could have raised taxes the extra $60 million over the last ten years, and we'd have no debt,$10 million in the bank, but higher taxes. You'd still complain.

The courthouse thing is what gets me. It's no different than the fiasco at TSD. The locals howl and whine, and compromise is put into play to do a half-assed "cheap" fix, and 5/10/15 years down the road we'll still need that expansion, but only at that time it won't be $50 million, with favorable interest rates, it will be $100/$150 million with higher interest rates. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullett and make hard and unpopular decisions that need to be made, even if the local armchair quarterbacks think they have better plans or know what is better. This was a great failure on the part of the current commissioners and they dropped the ball here when they should have led.

PEOPLE it's true. The incumbents think the PEOPLE OF FRANKLIN COUNTY ARE STUPID - BLIND SHEEP. They've got the whole smoke and mirrors going with the PUBLIC OPINION. They've initiated their attack campaign with lies and mud slinging to distract from the REAL ISSUES AT HAND - THEIR RECORD!!!! They haven't gone to a forum because they are AFRAID TO FACE THE PUBLIC. They have only agreed to go to the forum on May 12th because they have been given the questions in advance… HOW SAD!!! THOMAS, the PEOPLE OF FRANKLIN COUNTY got your number. They are INTELLIGENT enough to sort through the CRAP and find the FACTS. You can disperse you Henchmen (WILDMAN) to spread the lies… THE PEOPLE WILL SPEAK ON MAY 17th.

Franklin County spends hardly anything on social services. Obviously, using your math tells us that taxes in the county have been kept artificially low for a very long time & do not recognize the reality that every government service costs money. Makes me wonder how the county had all this debt piled up for the entire 16 years. The late 1990's were pretty prosperous for the country as a whole. The debt is the People's debt, not any commissioner's debt. The People have chosen to elect officials who promise services without adding the requisite costs.

We agree with you. We should consider replacing elected officials who do not use real math when analyzing both the sides of the balance sheet: revenues & expenses.

Vote Democratic!!! Ziobrowski & Gontz for Franklin County Commissioner!

LOL!

Pellicano's dishonest campaign was struck a possible death-blow yesterday when it was revealed that the only time he votes is when he is on the ballot! He didn't vote in the last commissioner's election in 2007 and didn't even show up to vote against Obama in 2008!
The irony that his candidacy is supported by "Citizens for Responsible Government" is just hilarious!!

Keep throwing your lies around Kathy. You know you can't defend the incumbent record, so you revert to mud slinging. Like someone said yesterday, are we going to now start looking for birth certificates? SPARE US! No Kathy, the voters are not stupid. You and Bob and Dwight might think so. But they are NOT! Not at all. You and Dwight need to crawl back into the mud bog, and either find a way to defend the 140% tax increase, or just plain shut up.

They're so desperate to run Pellicano down that the best they can do is say that he didn't vote in every single election. It's really pretty pathetic if that's the worst criticism the incumbents can make of him and they'd rather talk about that than their own record.
Ugh
