I see that the extremists are at it again! They are trying to give a platform to their candidates for County Commissioner. One of them is the groups vice-president! I wouldn't blame any candidate one bit if they took a pass on this so-called forum. Looks like a set up to me. Maybe I'll start a group called Citizens for Sensible Government and have my own forum!

Scared of the public asking questions are you?

It seems from the reporting , such as it is, candidates will have a chance to answer questions....

Let's see. Larry theFunk is VP of CRG and Allen Piper is putting up signs for theFUnk and Pellicano, and the handful of women, led by Debbie Taylor, who make up the so-called Republican Women's group were all present at Pellicano's annoucement and are big supporters. One even sent in a letter to the editor supporting him.

No bias here, is there?

The CRG consists of Republican malcontents. CRG is no longer bipartisan, and this is a set up, with pre- prepared attacks.

Who would wish to be the moderator of these dog and pony shows? Not Allen Piper, and I bet the moderator will NOT be from Franklin County?

CRG has lost any credibility it ever had. Piper is just a figurehead now, with Taylor and Pace running things in concert with LarryFunk and Pellicano. It's a well known fact that CRG has prepared endorsements for Pellicano/Funk as soon as these sham forums are over.

It seems the left is preparing the public for ''no shows''

That's what those that are not serious always say!

Then why run for office ? Fun and games along the way?

If I were running for office, I'd stay as far away from these bozos as possible.

I agree -- you wouldn't want anyone to know what you are about...

Why bother with Antrim when it's only four candidates? Is there an ulterior motive to elect another puppet for the one supervisor already running the township?

Scheduling these events is not easy. The Greencastle-Antrim School Board is meeting May 5 and therefore could not be invited to the Candidates Night on May 5. There is no ulterior motive, just a scheduling issue. Hopefully, those people that are interested in the election will have an opportunity to better review their choices and make an informed decision.

While some may disagree with CRG, I don't see too many other groups offering a chance to ask the candidates questions in a public forum?

Citizens for Responsible Government is a sham. It's a carnival sideshow for the egomaniacal rantings of the self annointed leaders.

These are merely nobodies, trying to prove they are somebodies.

I can't imagine any of the real candidates showing up to what is nothing more than a poorly disguised ambush.

Piper want to toss the old and replace with the TEA, Funk and Pellicano. That's the whole story, skip the sideshow.

Why doesn't the Public Opinion hold a forum as do other papers?

Because it would be embarrassing when the left doesn't bother to show up!

I think it's funny that you can't even say the name of one of the candidates on this forum.

Funk, Funk, FUNK!!!!

Hahahahahahahaha.

And shame on Jim Hook for giving legitimacy to this nutball group.

They sound like chaos will reign, since there is no moderator and questions will come only from the floor. Some contentious trouble makers will likely be in the crowd.

Did you miss this????

Piper said he will introduce the evenings' candidates, but will not act as moderator.''''The events will be open and well-maintained'''', he said..

meaning someone other than what you call a moderator will direct the show!

Wake up people, those with the big signs, the typical blue blooded, country club Rockefeller Republicans who have lead us to failure at every level want your vote!

Those who stand on party, not principles. Those who backed Specter until the last minute. Those who suck the government teat, and will not stand up to the pork from state and federal.

They'll try to personalize this race as a Taylor backed ticket, and blur what this is really about. It's about issues and just as we voted for a different way of doing things last year, it's more important that we vote this way at the county level.

Don't believe the hype, it's about common sense government, not personalities.

Remember the Courthouse!
