Its amazing how poorly written these stories are.

Do the occupants of the house have criminal records?

Are the occupants of the house associated with known gang members?

Is investigative journalism dead in Columbus?

Do to political correctness and the Mayor's hands off policy regarding gang activity (Short North Posse; 22nd Street Bloods; MS 13 at El Gato Negro Bar on Lockbourne Road) Columbus random violence will only get worse and worse especially in the ghetto areas.

The headline should read:

Pit bull shot while guarding back yard.

Only in the ghetto is the "family dog" a pit bull.

Oh, I'd like to be the reporter who asked any of the household if they had criminal records. Is this public information the police could supply and, even so, what relevance does it have?

Was the dog allowed to bark night and day? Neighbors' tolerance sometimes wears thin. Could have done it with a sugar cube poisoned with anti-freeze too.
