I took a motorcycle ride to Cincinatti on Friday and saw 10 or more OSP cruisers on I-71. Four of them had two cars pulled over at the same time. Its all about the cash.

Tell all the roofers you know to put all the nails they pick up from tear offs in a can and dispose of them properly.......where the cops sit running speed traps and non-paved cross overs on four lane roads.
The roofers who were here a couple of weeks ago left all their tearoff nails in my gutters, the dumb "clucks". I had a five gallon bucket of crap from cleaning up after them.

Follow traffic laws, you won't get a ticket. Pretty simple, really.

When they are not followed by those whom enforce them then no one should be subject to those laws. Now go back to drinking with your Union thuglet pals.
I can honestly say that every ticket I've ever gotten I deserved and I got out of several that I should have been nailed on.

They can drive how they want, I'll follow the law and keep more of my money and my insurance premiums down.

I don't blame the cops. They are just doing what they are told to do. The high price of tickets and the revenue enhancement motive is sad but just like white guilt, no one can stand up to the folks who raise the prices and set the parameters for clamping down. Truth is the speed limit is too slow. Interstate highways were mad for 75mph plus movement safely. I do agree that folks are much more stupid nowadays and road rage way too much. I don't think shelling out tickets for 5-15mph over is the answer but I honestly can't say what is. Aggressive drivers are the problem. The old and infirm and too slow are as much a problem as speeding. I don't know what the answer is. I believe it is revenue enhancement but that is my opin. I try not to get upset with the troopers. They are just doing what we expect of them. Taking orders and carrying them out.

I don't recall the troopers being order to text or call their girlfriends or watch porn on the laptop. They choose to do that since they are exempt from those bans. It sickens me that a 22 year old punk with a smokey the bear hat or a draft dodger who became a sheriffs deputy to avoid going to veitnam don't have to wear a seatbelt but you and I do. Texting is supposedly so dangerous and demands extraordinary skills to perform while driving a Marine or Naval aviator on leave are forbidden by law to do so but a law enforcement aka tax collector can and does so on my dime.
Remember this when the economy really hits the shitter those cops deputies and troopers are not your friends no more than they and their fireman and teacher pals were when protesting at State Houses last Summer.
Very few of the law enforcement I have seen in action or know are worth a pint of piss to put them out if they were on fire.
A draft-dodger who became a deputy to avoid going to Vietnam? Dude, the last time that could have happened was 39 years ago; those deputies would be collecting a retirement check today, assuming that ever happened.

Why would you think cops etc. would be your friends? That's just nuts.

I haven't been pulled over in 16 years (got a warning), nor a ticket since late 1980. Follow the law and they leave you alone. Period.

The economy sucks big time right now and we are in a recession. A few years ago I was heading to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but when I was in the Wheeling area in West Virginia I got caught in a major speed trap. The whole highway had vehicles of all kinds pulled over. They had Ohio and Pennsylvania license plates. The cop gave me my first traffic in 7 years. He did act polite about it. He wasn't the problem and he was just doing what he was told to do. I had to pay the WPD a fine that cost over $200. It was the highest speeding ticket I ever had to pay. These speeding ticket fines are a big time cash cow for the Wheeling Police Department. The cops ain't the problem. Their superiors got a major moneymaker op going.
