More people who will not take risks on investment property telling those who do who they have to accept as tenants.
Land owners should be able tp choose who the rent or sell too especially if they are close proximity to the rental/ sale.
Is that really fair?

Would you rent to Blacks?

Would you rent to Transgenders and Transexuals?

Would you rent to Africans from Somalia?

Well, guys, let's hope you never have property to rent. You will be in for a rude awakening.

You may be able to say no to homosexuals, but that is about it. You'll have to accept anyone else who meets the eligibility requirements....

Wanna bet? There are all kinds of ways around the scourge of political correctness. And if the rental property is worth anything at all, I'm going to ask for a credit score over 700. That ought to weed out 90% of the riff raff.

I rented once residential. Never again, if your belt misses a loop, you are no longer in consideration for said property.

>Why should the landlord be forced to take a risk on a renter he doesn't like or trust? Why should a seller be forced to sell to some they can't stand the thought of living near. How is that fair?.
I would rent to Blacks if they were married heterosexuals who were like Walter Williams. I would not rent to whites if they were democrats.<

You'd be in violation of the federal Fair Housing Act. I suggest that you look it up.

Really? Do you know how to read? Most importantly, do you recognize and/or absorb what you read? Next, can your mind process what the pitfalls and/or gains are from the act that you quoted?

Oh geez, the frat house next door had a sheep that got loose. It chewed out the electrical cord to the condenser which shorted out the furnace, which in turn did not close the gas valve. When that happened the house filled with gas and suffocated the mama raccoon and all her babies in the duct work. You are more than welcome to move in but I will need firt and last month's rent (non-refundable) and one security deposit up front. A one year lease is required. BTW, it might smell funny for a while until the dead animals rot away enough.

Assuming that your daughter really is a lawyer, thus no lawyer fees is it really worth it to look into it? There would still be court costs, your daughter is "wasting" billable hours on this, and you still have no place to live.

Discrimination happens to everyone whether perceived or provable.

Hubby and I were turned down for 1/2 a duplex based on our age. They told us; too young, too big of a risk, we like you but... Although we liked the place, I'm not wasting my time in the legal system to live in a place where I am not welcome. If I chose the legal route, one hiccup, i.e. hole in the wall, dog had an accident on the carpet, etc. eviction ensues.

If it's a good fit, it's a good fit. If not, it's my property, I'll choose.
