It is certainly better than no sentence!! Would you rather have him drink and drive again and this time end up possibly killing one of your family members?? I think not!

30 days? That's all? This low-life and his criminal son deserved at least 10 years of hard labor or 70 years in dog years (each).

What are you trying to say?? All politicans from NYC enjoy a little cocaine from time to time? What, is that a crime or something? Jeez, don't you know that cocaine is an intellectual stimulant that they obviously need to perfrom better for the people of ny!!

Gee, I got no jail time, but 5 years probation, and my license pulled for the time I was on probation. I kept myself in good standing with probation and STILL had to do all but 3 months. Didn't get off early for good behavior.

So this hump gets 30 days in the slammer and a mere 3 years probation? I agree, this is crap!

I am not so sure about the jail time. I find it a waste to place anyone in jail for breaking the law that did not injure one. I do agree there should be a severe punishment but I don't think jail is the answer. No doubt probation should be one punishment. How about making him go to rehab. Then make him work rehab. And not a Betty Ford high class rehab. One full of homeless, welfare, medicaid people. Then send him to work at a homeless shelter, then a food kitchen. Make him pay his debt by helping his peers. Yes they are his peers. He is just more affluent than then they are. They are no different as they hold the same addictions. Make him pay his debt while helping out his community. Maybe just maybe he will learn when he see's what his future holds were he to continue on this path in life.
