As the law sees it, it's the woman's body and her choice. With that comes the responsibily of controlling what gets in through the pearly gates. If the gatekeeper is drunk, distracted or sleeping on the job, and something gets in that shouldn't, the woman is to blame (forcible rape being an exception to this rule). If you see a fox around a henhouse, you know there's only one reason for him to be there. Similarly, if there's a guy she doesn't know anything about(or knows to be trouble)- and he gets in, she shouldn't be surprised to end up a single mother.
Actually, I was in a relationship for 4 years. We were going to get married. I got pregnant with a baby that both of us wanted. He began to drink too much and I left. How is it my fault that things worked out this way?

I love my babies thank you very much and I am proud of myself but......THE BABY DADDY NEEDS TO BUCK UP AND TAKE CARE OF HIS RESPONSIBILITIES.

Parents dont ether care or have any control of there children anymore. Or they come from a broken home where there isn't any control from nether both sides. And if ur growen up. some girls are in it for money and dont care and for men they only care about there man hood. But other wise there is alot of good moms and good dads.

In my opinion who ever raised the child should get half the blame.
Kids will always make mistakes just as us adults do. Whether or not we learn from these mistakes is the real issue.

Regardless of blame, the focus should be on PREVENTION rather than accepting the responsibility once it arises. Our teens need to be able to obtain contraceptives and reproductive healthcare (both males AND females) including cancer and STI screenings in a non-judgemental environment. This is going to require a shift in thinking on behalf of a lot of parents, and expanded access for teens.Parents need to realize that these things ARE happening, and educate their children to make good choices.
Many teens don't realize that they CAN obtain these services without their parents' knowledge or consent (often even free of charge).

My daughter graduated this year from Franklin Academy- She told me there were about 20 girls pregnant in that school.
You can't always blame it on the parents. These young men and women know what they are doing. Lets put a lot of the blame on the kids. When these kids CHOOSE to lay down they know what can happen.

how about some education, the morning after pill is avaiable at the drug store . Everyone one here seems to be able to make judgements . but no sound advice .. find a a former single mom now in her fifties . let her tell it like it is. hey kids , when you get pregnant ,& choose to keep that baby, you had better be prepared to grow up in a hurry.. no more partys, no college , & working at Walmart & geting paid very little money for the rest of yor life.. No chance to travel , just to be poor & also pass this onto your child,, so if you want more in life , tell those girls to keep there legs closed & get an education,, because , if you have any pride in yourself . you want more in life , & parents you should be telling them that

the gov, makes it to easy for these girls to get help. that way they dont have to work and have money to spend on fun things that they want .
take the welfare away and let them sweat it out and teenage pregnancy will go down.

Very often the motivation for getting pregnant and keeping the baby is so the teenage mother "has something" that is theirs. When you have 3 generations and the great grandmother is 56 someone needs to be asking questions. Most young mothers never learned how to parent. They have no one to follow as a role model. There are a large number of parents who can't parent (they did not learn how) or who won't parent (they are to busy taking care of thier own social needs. There are some wonderful people out there who would love to adopt but the social pressure is on these girls to keep their babies and continue the cycle. You need a licence to drive but not to have a baby.
