If you had trouble with Judge Hoven, it is because you were in trouble! He is a very fair Judge

Sparky--you are no doubt an idiot who has probably been in trouble with the law--I have had the good fortune to be the friend of Judge Hoven for over 40 years and would be hard pressed to find someone as honest or fair as he is. My recommendation would be to try and stay out of his courtroom as you obviously are having problems.

I have to admit...I was recently in Judge Hoven's courtroom to dispute a basic traffic ticket....and fair is not the word that I would use to describe him. I had 2-3 points I wanted to make, and had a document I wanted the Judge to glance at. Total...I needed about 2 minutes of his time, tops. Instead, after sitting in his courtroom patiently for nearly 4 hours, he let me talk for approximatley 8-10 seconds, and cut me off with a smirk on his face, and said "Denied". Fair? I don't quite think so. I'm not saying he is a bad person, but come on...if you want to be a judge, shouldn't you hear the request out, and maybe....just maybe give the courtesy of letting me finish my sentence?
Judge Williams is fair.
Judge Hoven....egotistical.
That's my 2 cents. Keep the change.

I can only say, I sure hope he is fair! He allowed the attorney of a woman, who has been a stay at home mother to seven children for 23 years, and has a disability and has never had a job, to withdraw from her case. It was only a month and four days till her trial. The woman had to borrow the original funds to pay for an attorney and now she has no means to borrow any more money for another attorney. Not to mention that several of the attorneys she has spoken with, have told her that her attorney has made a huge mess of her case and it will cost her a lot more if they were to take the case. The other attorneys have said that they will not even touch her case. This woman has a fifth grade education and has no ability to defend herself. What on earth is she supposed to do now?

Why on earth do judges allow these attorneys to withdraw from such cases? Now this women will probably end up with nothing and end up on the streets. Meanwhile her husband who abused her for 23 years of marriage and neglected her basic needs will get to keep everything. This man is a real piece of work. He would tie her up and sexually assault her several times a week. So while I hope that Judge Hoven is fair, I won't hold my breath, but I do pray he is. This woman has had a really rough life and deserves a little bit of peace for once in her life. She has no family and no friends because her husband would not let her have a life.

I always thought the court systems were fair, but really they are only as good as the judges that sit behind the benches. The only winners seem to be the rich and the lawyers in the case.

I have been harassed by my ex with the help of the franklin co. court ever since we divorced. Hoven listens to frivoulous requests for modification and grants them. The legal process in franklin county has successfully bankrupted me and I have nothing to show for it. I receive minimal child support and have been dragged into court every 9-18 mo since we divorced, much to my ex's delight! And watch out for the mediators if you are indigent or on state assistance I had one flat out tell me he didnt believe in medicaid or any type of state assistance, hope he never needs it but that is just it isnt it. Easy to be all high and mighty till you walk a mile in someone else's shoes.

MEClubb I'd like to take this time to tell you that if you think someone is an idiot for asking if someone has had a problem or problems with this judge then you are no better a judge of character than he is and are just as quick to make assumptions about anybody.. Now I've had the "pleasure" of meeting with this judge and found him rude and just not at all a pleasant man and to be a friend of his has got to be a burden so for that I feel sorry for you.

Only the poor, the disabled, the elderly and the weak! You know, those who are unable to defend themselves!

I would like to see all those that have had problems with judge hoven to step up and voice their opinion here. I am even considering taking out an add in the paper, asking all those who have been hurt by this man to speak up. Here is a website that you can go to for information on reporting him or an attorney for misconduct. http://www.mochiefcounsel.org/ocdc.htm...

Each time I have sat in the courtroom and watched the proceedings, I see this man (judge hoven) allow attorney after attorney withdraw from a case. Leaving the clients (mostly women of little or no means) to stand defenseless. While the lawyers take what little money they have.

From what I have seen, it is nothing more than a little boys club. There seems to be no truth or justice going on inside of his courtroom. Someone needs to clean house in the Franklin County Courthouse!

Judge Hoven is NOT fair! My child support case has been in his court since 2011. My ex was 9000.00 when we entered his court, as of today my ex is 18,000 dollars behind. Judge Hoven allows this!! He loves deadbeats. Any other Judge would not allow this. I've done my homework and have done my research. I have to struggle to make ends meet while the deadbeat gets a free pass from Hoven. I'm not a trouble maker. I follow the laws and he is very unfair.

Really I have proof that he is not a fair judge and he thinks that he is high and mighty. Both of my legs are so badly blistered and scared along with nerve damage that keeps me up at night from having to wear a scram anklet, He was giving photos and offered alternatives such as a breathalizer and things of that natural but yet said that he would take it up at the next court date which is a month after my time is up. I have permanent damage done to me because he doesn't care and only wants the money for court cost and fines. I didn't hurt nor take anything from anybody but I have scars and nerve damage that will be with me for the rest of my life. Please tell me how that is a fair and just punishment, you cant because it is not.

As a Veteran of 4 combat tours I also expected some decency on my day in court. I arrived promptly with documentation, pictures, and support to make a 2min case regarding the misleading nature of my Conservation Tickets! These were minor misdemeanor charges which would have been a simple fine but I felt criminalized over misleading information posted on a government website. After waiting 4hrs in the courtroom I was called up only to be curtly asked whether I was guilty or wanted a lawyer. I was given no time, not even 15 seconds to present a word in my defense. Other characters that day which were in court for repeat offences much more severe than a fishing violation who were granted plenty of time to bemoan their situation. Needless to say I was less than impressed with his unequal treatment from such a post. I am not here to say he is a bad individual, but the experience I had in his courtroom felt anything but fair.

I have Judge Hoven for a DWI. I had two others 25 years ago and nothing since one this last July. Anyone care to comment how this Judge may adjudicate this?

He has gotten way to comfortable on the bench. We the people should speak up vote his butt out look for skeletons in his closest and let them out let him feel some of his own mistreatment and disrespect. He has skeletons my oh my expose him...
