Downtown merchants sensitive to clearing out The Jungle

Aug 24, 2010 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Recorder - Greenfield, Massachusetts

Merchants along the south side of Main Street say they haven't had a lot of problems with the homeless people living behind their stores in an area known as The Jungle, and said the mayor's plan to clear the area out is good, as long as there's somewhere for the tent city's residents to go.

I think if the residents of "The Jungle" don't cause any visible problems to the residents or the railroad why cant they stay.
If you throw them out then everyone will see them in the streets at night sleeping on benches or sidewalks.
It will also piss them off and then they will feel disrespected and cause a whole lot of more problems then the mayor "thinks" he has now.
This whole problem,i believe,is a way for the new mayor to make a name for himself.
I've seen it happen before in Lowell and Boston and now nobody wants to be out there at night.
