My wife and I adopted one of the rescued cats named Charity this March from Assisi in Crystal Lake. She is 5-6 years old. Charity loves attention and loves people. She is very playful and energetic; she often acts like a kitten. She also loves to greet us at the door when we arrive home and will follow us around the house. Many evenings she would be content to sit on your lap for hours. We are thankful to have her as part of our family.

I am glad to hear that you guys adopted these animals and gave them loving homes. A few years ago my husband and I rescued (adopted)a dog from a shelter and he is the best and most loving dog we have ever had. We also have a Lab and he is the same way. I wouldn't give them up for the world.

My greatest wish is to win the lottery so I can buy 100,000 acres or so somewhere and take ALL the unwanted dogs and cats and let them live their lives happily, safely and in peace. Unfortunately, they would all be named Belvedere (after the best dog in the whole world!) My late husband said if he died he wanted to come back a dog in my house. Every dog that adopts me gets asked the question...is that you, Bob???? I will NEVER get an animal from anywhere except the shelter...
