Winston-Salem proposed budget would raise property tax rate 9 percent
Winston-Salem's property tax rate would increase by almost 9 percent, and bus fares would increase by 30 cents to $1.30 under a $398.2 million budget proposed Friday by Winston-Salem City Manager Lee Garrity.

I strongly oppose to this drmatic increase on cost of living nor do I agree with the increase of bus fares. I am saying this because if there is so muc mo spent on housing there will be a decrease in commercial and business profits. Transportation here in Winston Salem ia in huge demand and necessity. However, if the citizens have the advantage of Bus/Public tranportation on Sundays, businesses can profit as well.
