Forsyth County Considers 'Scoop the Poop' Ordinance - WGHP

Officials in Forsyth County are considering a proposal that would require pet owners to remove excrement or other solid waste left by their animals in public areas.

I have seen about 100 dogs this year doing there thing,and I have only seen 2 ladys clean up after there dogs,its a shame, you say you love them well clean up after them,I am tired of stepping in it and my grandkids stepping in it and then we have to through there shoes away,all summer long.I hope this passes and we get a number to call when we see this going on in our neighbor hood, I am tired of it and I know there has got to be A lot me out there like me.

I have a concern that I would like to have addressed during your meeting. The number of dogs an owner can have in their yard within 50 feet of any other residence in the county. My neighbor has up to 30 dogs at a time in her back yard which is 20 feet from our house. The noise and stinch is unbearable. There needs to be a regulation on the number of dogs allowed within close proximity to other homes. Animal control is out there every couple of weeks but they have no rules to be enforced and therefore, the dog owner has more rights than all the neighbors together.
