So your idea of being considerate is people putting up with your smoking. Well we have but since you can't be considerate of non smokers and not smoke around us the government had to step in. now it's time for non smokers to have there rights.

It seriously cracks me up when I see someone 50-100lbs overweight drinking a big ole glass of soda and eating enough food for 3 people complain about cigarette smoke! Um, hello... I know, I know you being overweight isn't hurting anyone but yourself BUT WAIT my insurance just went up and I have to pay more taxes to cover your hind end when you get sick and go on disability from being overweight!! I don't want to sit and breath smoke either but just as soon as our wonderful government starts taxing(or making illegal) all the other crap people put into their bodies, then I will agree with this law!!!!

No the governments didn't have to stick their big fat socialist noses into this. If there was ever a market for "Smoke Free" restaurants, the restaurant owners would have gone that direction. Business owners cater to the people who are their paying customers. Not check skipping libertards like you.

Your idea of considerate is passing laws that allow you to enter another person's property with the right to demand they change their LEGAL lifestyle of choice on their own land...all to suit your narcissistic desires on land that is in no way yours.

What kind of selfish mentality demands everyone including the owner cater to their lifestyle choices?

Why not act like a real American by using your right to freedom of association by going where there are others who are like minded?

Why on earth is the right to freedom of association not good enough for your kind when it is this very right that is the basis for all freedom?

The reality of the matter is those like yourself were never happy with places of their own...so you demanded them all while ignoring the fact that you are trampling on even the most basic of rights.

What a dangerous bunch of control freaks...indeed.

No my idea of considerate is when I go into a restraint and set in the non smoking are not having some idiot light up next to me. Restaurants are covered in laws and rules to protect your safety and mine. So by your thinking lets do away with all the rules like the sanitation laws and see how you like it. you said it. it there Restaurant let them decide how clean to keep it or how to store food or who washes there hands. Where you like it or not laws and rules concerning Restaurants are there to protect the public.

Out comes the predictable circular reasoning where one intrusion is the basis for another...which of course justifies yet another...ect.

Based on such poor logic there are no insane laws one could not attempt to justify.

Just how many of these "rules" removed the right for the owner of the property to enjoy a LEGAL lifestyle of choice on their own land...even in their private office all alone?

Perhaps you will tell us all about these restrictions that removed the right for like minded individuals to gather together in peace and comfort to enjoy a LEGAL lifestyle of choice?

Can you site actual precedent for such insanity that you are particularly proud of?

If your kind can now do this to one LEGAL lifestyle of choice...just what protects others if your kind turns your sights on them?

What a dangerous precedent indeed to those who comprehend the difference between LEGAL and illegal.

First they came for the smokers....

Well actually Steve if you do some research you will find that the number one cause of death in the US is American medicine. Due to unnecessary hospital stays, over-use of antibiotics leading to drug resistance, etc, etc. I DO NOT assume that every non-smoker is overweight. However, it just takes one trip to the local mall and observing the size of most of our fellow Americans to realize that we have a far greater problem that just smoking. I don't really know what your point was anyway because you stated that you didn't like it when government passes laws that take away our freedom. Just like me!!

So you have the right to gather in a public place and fire one up and the only people there that has any rights is the smoker. Where are the rights of the non smoker who wish to gather in a public place? I forgot the only right the non smoker has is to stay home. I guess next you will say that people have the right to text and drive and non texter should stay home. No one is telling you can't smoke you just can't inside a restaurant same as hospitals/schools. Now as fare as restaurants not being able to decide it's a matter of public health the same reason other rules are imposed on restaurants to protect the public health. One of the main reasons that smokers lost there right to smoke in restaurants is arrogant attitudes like a lot of these posting comments. You thank your rights is the only thing that matters well you just got showed yours is not the only one that matters

I am making this my last, nuts, spam, clueless, and mean post on this topic. I am beginning to believe that smoking effects are so powerful that they cloud a persons common sense and logic.

First there are no positive or legitimate arguments that can be shown that smoking or being in the presence of smoke is a a good thing for anyone including the smoker, none, not one period.

Second there is also a misconception that this is in some way a removal of some right that a smoker has, it isn't, you may smoke before and after you enter a non-smoking establishment.

Third the owners of businesses are apparently unconcerned about smokers affect on their business or their perceived right to have smoking PRIVILEGES(what smoking really is a privilege)in a business since there has been no organized protest or opposition to this newly enacted law.

Fourth business owners apparently do not support voicing their First Amendment rights since they also have had no organized protest or opposition to being allowed to control the decision of smoking or how it is regulated on what to allow in their businesses themselves.

Fifth, smokers, business owners you lost. The new law is in place and you did nothing, who is to blame or get mad at? You need go no further than your closest mirror.

I did look it up [top 10 causes of death in the us] and this is what I found time and time over. I guess you didn't read the new law on Restaurants and the types of oil used because of the over weight problem in the US. And no I don’t like the law because it does take away more of our freedoms. But on the other hand smokers not having respect for non smokers is what have helped bring it on. Don't believe me just read the comments being made. In there thanking there the only one who has any rights.
