The reason the kids drink so much is because they have no future. It is a symptom of a much deeper problem.

They may not be able to express it in those terms but, deep down, they know it is true. The country is being turned into a giant reservation.

Leftism breeds despair and misery.

This is your future America. Drink it up.

Cheers

why not try to help the ones that are at the door waiting every morning at the Main street store. and then come back every 30 minutes until they're so wasted they get turned away till the next day. Same ones over and over, every single day. such a shame. oh but wait, you won't turn down the chance to make a buck, I almost forgot.

"We are still waiting to hear back from ABC about the specific reasons behind its increased enforcement."

ABC trying to appear relevant before it goes the way of the dinosaurs.

What the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control needs to investigate is the blatant misuse of state vehicles for personal use that is going on in the Staunton office. They also need to investigate why they are allowing "exceptions" to their own rules for the office supervisor when their rules clearly state that there are no "exceptions".

Wow I did not see anything in there about safety for anyone. Seems to me that should have been their first thought. Just saying!!

Waiting to hear back about specific reasons? Really? Isn't it obvious there are big problems with underage drinking? Didn't UVA just make an announcement that the fraternity/sorority pledging had to end by a specific and earlier date due to some hazing issues involving alcoholic beverages? I don't think ABC needs to give specifics, most are pretty clear!

Underage drinking is addressed by all law enforcement (including State Conversation Police Officers) on a daily basis. Funny that ABC wants to step up their efforts close to the time all the underage drinkers will be leaving town for the summer.

Honestly, The U.S. should consider the European laws regarding alcohol. Allow the parents to teach the kids proper alcohol usage instead of banning them from it. Banning alcohol for minors only makes them want to partake of something that they are not educated or taught the proper way to enjoy. So they go out and binge drink, and drive without the correct knowledge of how to handle it because of stupid Gov't laws that think they know better than parents on how to teach our children on the usage of alcohol.

You really shouldn't comment on subjects when you are not educated enough to make sense.
It seems that you are the only one that is in despair and misery.

Excellent post. Unfortunately our Puritan leanings are still guiding our morals. If we could get Gawd out of the "state" we'd be better off.
