Coal companies. The epitomy of the industrial 'bad citizen'.

So if they get their permit this year they can avoid using the 'best available equiptment'? Just how bad is their equipment and how will it affect the surrounding region??

Supercritical pulverized coal is basically old technology and not very efficient. I wonder how many of the emissions scrubber controls they were able to avoid too...

So we taxpayers are highly subsidizing a massively polluting coal plant that is publicly trying to dodge the law.

Brilliant.

Nope. It doesn't become LAW until after the permits. This is just 'engaging the loopholes' and 'avoiding the intent'. In other words, bad citizenship, not criminal activity. Lots of bad things that are perfectly legal. After all, the money men have a LARGE influence on writing the laws..
