I am Cory's cousin, I have know him all my life, threw both good and bad times. I have supported him through the birth of many beautiful babies, and cried with him while putting one to rest. Cory and I grew up together, and it is very confusing, on one hand I hate him for what he’s done, on the other I am so sad for the man he once was, for his sons, for all of us who have been drug into his nightmare.
Everyone asks me what was Cory thinking, or why would he do this? How the hell am I supposed to know? Sometimes people do things that there are no explanations for. I have seen countless news stories where relatives, friends, neighbors, and coworkers tell reporters that the serial killer they knew was a decent and kind person. That they could never do such a thing…but the truth is in the end they did do what ever horrible thing they were accused of. I do not think as humans we are equipped to deal with this kind of event in our own lives and it is more comfortable to just deny any of it as truth.
This awful event has torn our whole family apart. For all you who want to beat people up with your opinions should realize the kind of hell the three families involved have gone threw in the last few weeks. This is not easy for any of us, and all of us loose.
Many people lost a friend, a cousin, a son, a big brother, and a father...and it, in its own way, has been a life sentence for all of us that none of us asked for. The rest of us, the countless people this crime touched, are left with broken hearts and fractured families are stuck dealing with the reality of the situation which means none of our lives will ever be the same again.
All you people can say what you want, but the reality is that Cory is in jail because they have plenty of evidence to hold him there. Do you really think the state arrests, tries, and convicts people based solely on other peoples accusations? If that was the case we would have more jails than schools.
Lets get a grip folks, they must have supporting evidence to keep Cory charged with these horrible acts and locked in a cage. Technology is a great thing, and I am sure that DNA and physical evidence will tell the story of what happened.
Lets all remember that a young man lost his life, and spending our time talking about rather Cory is guilty or not does not change the facts. The truth will come out in the trial; the physical evidence will come out in the trial, and all the bickering you people are doing back and forth is silly and a waste of time.
The victim had family and friends that loved him, Cory has family and friends that love him...we do not need to keep rehashing half ass facts and conjecture because it just hurts the people who are left. Is there some reason people feel the need to keep pouring salt in their wounds?
Instead of spending time being vicious for your own entertainment, maybe you should think about doing something nice for the people who are left to pick up the pieces. One man is dead, one family is homeless, one man is in jail and there are dozens, if not hundreds of other people hurting. Do we really need to keep hurting each other? The people you are yelling at are hurting just like you, when the truth comes out, no matter what the truth is, we are all still broken.
