while big ghey AL and his global warming theory may have been exposed for the $$$ grubbing fraud that it is.
i'm surprise a local crackpot politician hasn't developed a "global crumbling" theory in order to bring awareness to the growing obesity trend.
you know, all of that increased seismic activity as they stumble around.

i'm just sayin'.........

Landslides and mudslides (more properly known as debris flows) are part of a a geologic process known as mass wasting. The recent increase is probably a result of the rainfall we've been receiving on the tail end of a lengthy dry spell. The least dramatic but perhaps the most damaging form is creep, which can be seen in cracked sidewalks and foundations, broken pipes and damaged roadways.

i'm fully aware of the geological aspects surrounding our region.
it's one of the many fascinations i have w/ this area as i hike the mountains.

it was a joke about opportunistic politicians and their sleazy ability to grasp onto any "crisis" that might serve their own interests.

i'd always been a bit of a rock hound in the various places i've lived.

but around this area, the geology pretty much smacks you in the face at every turn.
getting out and about this time of year when you can better see the lay of the land, let's you see the awesome outcroppings and layering that surrounds us.

cool that we have that in common.
