I can't believe they are letting Butch Blevins run again - he should have been kicked out of office. I am voting for David Slaven - a good, honest, hard working man.

A few weeks ago the paper said that a woman came to a commission meeting and asked why he was still working. The reply was that he was innocent until proven guilty. Can you not put someone on administrative leave with or without pay until trial is over?

According to State statue, that individual can not hold an office. Just go by your election comission office and get the rules and regulation. The election comission administrator should pursue this and confirm with Nashville office.

Not quite right. After doing some research on this and asking some questions I found he can run for office because I believe he got diversion. That allows him to run.Just a thought.

You knew they would find away around it! I'm sure that its been already discussed. Its not the fact that our road are better or he is a hard worker, he did something the morally wrong and all of fentress county is praising this crook for it. He won't be gettin my vote. Didn't vote for him on first round won't be voting for him this time either. To the rest of fentress let's get rid of this criminal.

It's like an iceburg. You only see about 10%. If this is what he pled guilty to what else has he done that we don't know about? And I'm with "Voter". I don't care how good you APPEAR to be.....you were intrusted with a public office and you are now a self admitted thief who stole from your employer...WE The People. Since when has honor and integrity become throw away commodities? There are not many times that we have a proven law breaker in office and we can vote them out, usually it is just rumors. This is no rumor, this is now a fact. Are you telling me we can't find someone running who can do the job just as well or better and keep his hands out of our pocket book?

I agree, my dad use to go out and cut around intersections in our area because by June you were taking your life in your hands at stop signs. Since Blevins came in the county does our road several times during the summer--they have already mowed twice (and I believe but not sure a third time) this season. During the snow back in the winter I actually saw snow trucks in our area--that was something I never saw until Blevins came in. I've never met Blevins but I will vote for him. I don't know about whether or not he is guilty, no contest just means you aren't fighting the charges-often this is more of a financial decision rather than an admission of guilt. I would think it would be very expensive to hire a lawyer to fight a long drawn out battle. I know several of the people running for road supervisor and I think our county is better off keeping Blevins.

He done a good job, the first term, the second bites. The guys working the roads(mowing) do terrible work.
"No contest" IS admittion of guilt.
STOP protecting those who are guilty.
