All Restraining orders should be issued with a 9mm handgun and a permit to shoot on sight.

Sounds as if she did everything right in order to avoid what happened. I'd say the enforcement agencies that are set up by governments to protect women in such cases were negligent in their duties. Public service employees earning their checks, by simply showing up for work to chat around the water cooler. Now 3 motherless children with damaged psyches and increased odds to perhaps one day further burden society.

If someone wants to kill you , you have very little chance of survival unless you take steps to help yourself. I'm partial to the glock 23. 180 grain hollow's, locked and loaded. 40 caliber self defense.13 with one in the pipe. Two taps center mass. Offense is the best defense. Just hope he doesn't sneak up behind you and that's all she wrote! Sad it has to come to this! But its the only way if you want to live! Then comes jail and civil suits. Or just leave the handgun home and pray a lot. But you can be sure of this, the police cannot help you with self defense. They will only be there after the fact. Your choice!

It has been established in the courts that law enforcement agencies and officers are not responsible for the protection of any individual. They are responsible to "protect" society as a whole.
You and you alone are responsible for your safety and protection.
You have to take the necessary steps to protect yourself, nobody else is going to do it.

This is why all Ohioans need to carry guns. Mrs. Blake ask for help from the Columbus Police...and received none. Even after Columbus residents passed a higher income tax for Columbus. Lets this be a warning, carry your own gun because the Columbus Police seem only interested in providing body bags in lieu of protecting Columbus residents.

I've always believed that it is not that the police don't want to protect, they just simply can't.
It's just simply impossible for them do protect everyone.
Take a hint form them though, they carry a gun mainly for their OWN protection.

Shotguns are a girl's best friend. Although, it doesn't hurt to have a 9mm close by....just in case.

Col. Jeff Cooper used to say:

Ok, she had 3 weeks warning of her death. Why was she within 100 miles of him. Get to a shelter ladies, stop this "i love him" crap. No man is worth all that.
ok obviously you know nothing. thr were no "I love you crap" Family wanted her to stay with them, but she was worried he'd kill them to get to her, just like he told her he would. And she did tell other sources in other counties his wearabouts but they did nothing to try and catch his a**!

It's almost like a Jerry Springer story. No matter how bad a guy treats a woman they say "I still love him, we've been through a lot together, he's always been there for me" and they let him back in the house. She didn't deserve what happened to her but why is she outside with him that early in the morning?

Nice family - hope your spouse does a better job this time around than he did with his first set of children...
His ex had taken them on the run years ago when she left town with a pimp. Our children & foster children are wonderful thank you . People like yourself should not speak without all facts given, not that it's your business. My comment was regarding the police & their lack of duty, not an invitation to run your pie hole.
