McLean Bible Church - Concealed agenda

McLean Bible Church has a concealed agenda that is unknown to most church-goers there, but is known and condoned by a few there in "high places of authority." These beings in high places of authority are not only fleshly ones who serve as elders, teachers, and pastors, but also invisible spirits and demonic angels.

The agenda --> McLean Bible Church is a "safe" church, where "nice" people are welcome. All others will be persecuted by those in authority who are thinking they are doing God a favor in weeding out these not so "nice" people under the guise of "not having the fruit of the Spirit".

Have you ever heard of that? Rejecting Christians because they do not have (in their opinion) the fruit of the Spirit? On the contrary, we should work harder with those in patience and love who really do not have the "fruit of the Spirit" evidenced in their lives, not reject them!

Like all sects of Christianity that have their hidden agendas, there are "code words" that accompany such agendas. What are the code words for MBC? The major code word for McLean is "SAFE". They want to be known as a "safe" place where people can come and not feel threatened by confrontation or criticism. While there is some validity to this, over-emphasis on this principle will nullify other Scriptures that would balance out such a one-sided viewpoint, which becomes an agenda.

Some of the subtle evidences of this "SAFE" agenda are:

1. Preaching sermons that emphasize being "safe", like the story about Jesus and the woman at the well. So far, in 2010, Lon Solomon has used this as the basis for his Sunday message twice in the first 3 months of 2010 (Once in January during the "Why we do what we do..." sermon and again on March 28 where the entire scripture was based on this story).

2. Teaching that confrontation is not a "fruit of the Spirit" and therefore anybody who dares to confront or criticize anyone is not acting like a Christian.

As with all churches that have their own agendas, they seek to preserve their power and authority by making church goers submit to them in a separate, non-scriptural, church covenant relationship. Thus they become members of the church twice: once by being baptized by the Holy Spirit into the universal Church (scripturally-based), and then making them become members of the church again by signing or agreeing to a set of stated principles or commands of a local assembly (unscripturally-based).

In summary, most Christian sects or cults spring from a heretical viewpoint of Scriptural Truth. These heresies always involve using a subset of Scriptures to validate one's slant or viewpoint, and ignore or play down other Scriptures that would seek to bring a Scriptural balance.

What is Mclean? Is it a sect or cult? The path from being a scripturally-sound church to one that is not is usually something that occurs gradually. It is usually the case, that one wakes up one morning, and alas, they are in darkness while they still think they are in the light. How great is that darkness!

McLean is not a sect or cult yet. With their agenda of focusing on being a "safe" place that is attractive for "nice" people, they are on their way to the apostasy of being "friends of the world", being a people that is more concerned with gaining the approval of man more than God's approval. Only God can judge when they have fully stepped over the line.

The purpose of this MBC thread is to expose this agenda, which can lessen the powerful control visible and invisible beings have over church-goers at MBC. Control is best gained and maintained when those being controlled are unaware of it. It is also my prayer that the visible beings, those elders and pastors and teachers, can also recognize this deviation from scriptural truth so they themselves can be untangled from this demonic snare, and in so doing they can the flock of God return to a more balanced viewpoint of Scriptural Truth.

I found this response on fairfax underground

I am responding to the unscriptural 2-church membership theory exposed in this article by providing more evidence from MBC's own stated beliefs in their "What We Teach" PDF.

Yes, MBC does require a second church membership which is not only unscriptural but also contradicts what they say.
In the section entitled, THE CHURCH, MBC states:

"We teach that all who place their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately baptized by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual Body, the Church..., of which Christ is the Head ... We teach that the Church, then, is a unique spiritual organism designed by Christ, made up of all born-again believers in this present age ... We teach that the establishment and continuity of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures, and that the members of this one spiritual Body are directed to associate themselves together in local assemblies."

I am in total agreement with this section from "What We Teach". Unfortunately, MBC contradicts their own stated teaching by going beyond "directing members to assocate themselves together in local assemblies", by making them sign a covenant agreement with MBC to become true members of their church. I say "their" church, because any subsequent church membership can only be an abbrogation or belittling of the one true church covenant made between believer and Christ through the witness and baptism by the Holy Ghost.

MBC shoud only do what they say they espouse in their beliefs: acknowlege those who have been born-again and accept them as full members of the Body of Christ in their local assemblies without requiring them to agree to secondary covenants, which are the doctrines of men, not of God.

Yep, these "secondary" agreements are purely a man-made, demon-inspired device to capture and control the hearts of men. hello to Babylon!

I love McLean Bible, I've been going there for years and been involved in Small Group/Bible Study and Mission trips as well as different Outreach opportunities...hypocrites are everywhere and Im sad that you would try to tear down what makes people happy and judge a church so harshly based on your own understanding of how you believe something to be true...try praying before posting next time and I'm pretty sure God won't lead you to write so negatively. God Bless!

please this church is a farce. let's all be robotic and grow spiritually? really? how about real people with real problems getting some real advice? the message are so watered down it's hardly recognizable, the people are like step ford wives and "safe" is the religion preached here not christianity.

one more thing, their numbers are highly inflated to appear much larger than they actually are. at best the membership is 4000 which is 4000 too many as far as i'm concerned. i think jesus must be reeling in horror over this one.

Membership may be around 4,000, but they doesn't stop about 13,000 people coming through the church regularly each weekend. They don't lie about membership numbers, because there is no need. McLean Bible does not require membership, but it does encourage it, as do all local churches. I know from experience that MBC is filled to the brim with real people experiencing real life. If you get involved and get to know follow attendees, you would experience that too.

I would be slower to judge that church because there are a million different flavors of christian churches with varying degrees of 'enforcing' this 'rule or that'. In some churches, the rules change leading to a split up (or maybe in all churches?). My advice to you is to 'sample around'(churches) and if you find a better place then go there. Are you afraid the MBC churchgoers dont have enuf IQ to discern for themselves what is BS and what's is not? If so then you may have a 'savior complex'- wanting to warn and save those putzz from MBC whom are too freakin dumb to figure out what you smartly have. My second advice is to 'get a date'. In that way you will redirect your 'concerns and energy' in a more rewarding and productive way - hopefully. G'Luck.

p.s. My 3rd advice, is "So What?"

attended MBC this AM - after being rudely ignored by Noah the greeter we were treated to a pathetic imitation of worship led by a homosexual and a Barbie doll, followed by 3 completely scripted baptisms with altered testimonies, a sermon from a completely spiritless DTS seminarian (3 points, 2 "suggestions" and a dismissal. There was a complete absence of the Holy Spirit and a marked spirit of the world, absolutely no motivation to surrender to Jesus, absolutely no conviction of sin and no call to repentance. It was clear early on there'd be no call to prayer or an alter call. Every word and activity of the service was carefully scripted. The place should be renamed, MBC, Inc. truly an abomination in the eyes of God.

I have been attending for about one year. After searching since 1997 for a bible believing church, I believe I found one. I do believe that the basic tenants of this church are bible believing, but what is nagging at me is there is no call to Christian discipleship or an invitation to accept Jesus Christ at the end of the sermon. Now, I am by no stretch of the imagination a saint or even close to one. But I keep hearing the scripture in my mind "Come out from among them, and be ye separate." Does that make me superior? A resounding NO. But what really unnerved me was a woman that I know came into the church 3 weeks ago, rudely stepped over me and handed me a peice of paper with a strong Buddist focus on how to take care of yourself. There was no mention of Jesus Christ in the entire excerpt. And she sat beside me and fidgeted as if she were having heroin withdrawal symptoms. I am never wrong on my gut feelings, but something somewhere is not right. I am sure someone would say the devil is trying to stop me from going to church. But it continues to bother me why there isn't a call to accept Christ. I know there is a limit on time but even a 30 second mention of accepting Him is better than not mentioning Him at all.

If you ever have a reason to contact one of their so-called "ministers" from the Stephens Ministry, watch your back. These "ministers" become psychotic if you do not "continue" with weekly updates or consent to a "spiritual" friendship. I am being stalked and terrorized on a daily basis and this "minister" even went on line and filed a fake order with my name and phone number and I am being persecuted by some bizarre company.

I was fed by this church when I did not have food. I was given a vehicle by member of the staff .... when I had no car. And I was also treated not so well by others ......on different occasions. This church is full of sinners....and saints. Like the apostle Paul....I too sometimes do what I don't want to do....for the good and bad. Looking for a perfect church??? RUN FAST. This is not it. Looking for a church that reflects true Christians....sinners and saits alike. We welcome you.#notasermonjustathought
P.S. The Solomon family and Lon Solomon is the most honorable pastor I have ever sat at the feet...of.

Matthew 7:2-5 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother,‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
I don't see an ounce of christian love pointed at the people in Mclean Bible Church from those posting negatively. Nothing is factual and is strictly opinion. MBC has areas where the assembly needs to grow and mature.
in other areas MBC excels. I think that's happening now.
I also see no scripture from those who challenge - Let the Word of God speak.
Also, remember we are all sinners and only saved by Christ - to all those who believe.

John 8:7 (KJV)
" So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

I haven't seen a single specific accusation that can be supported by objective fact in any accusation against McLean Bible Church on this blog. There are specific accusations against Pastor Solomon, but those can not be supported by facts, and I know for a fact they are not true.

Mclean Bible church feeds tens of thousands at Thanksgiving without regard for what or who the hungry believe in, offering them only a meal and the Gospel of John.

Mclean Bible runs a food pantry open to ALL who hunger...

Miclean Bible offers a clothing ministry, open to ANYONE who shows up and needs clothing.

Mclean Bible operates a career networking ministry and will assist ANYONE in a job search.

McLean Bible will send ANYONE's kid to camp and will pay their way if they can't afford it.

ANYONE with a child who has disabilities can receive respite care at Jill's House regardless of their ability to pay.

Last night I worshiped at Good Friday services at McLean Bible Church, and there is no way anyone could look at that thousand to fifteen hundred worshipers there as say they were anything but a very diverse crowd.

All of this is just the tip of the iceberg of service to the community and the Lord that Mclean Bible Church performs...

McLean Bible Church is not perfect, as no man is perfect apart from Christ. It does have it's challenges, but the vague accusations made here are not part of them. I would love to see a post describing the perfect church family this side of heaven... Until then, I remain blessed and happy to worship at McLean Bible Church.

My wife and I have been attending MBC since early August 2012. We've become closer together and with our Creator than we ever could have on our own. We love our God and feel drawn to this holy church. We've been blessed and are proud to call MBC our church. I pray for the poor souls who condemn this church and Lon's style. God loves you too and wants you to engage with him. Ask him to help you. Cease writing negative things about this church and look inside your heart.

I attended McLean Bible regularly for about 6 years... recently, the entire focus has shifted (thanks, Lon) to "Evangelical Missions" He wants to save the entire DC area. Ummm well, thanks, but I'm out. Lon's current "thing" is this book called Multiply. He is basing his sermons on a book.?????!!!

THE BIBLE is the main book, and if I want to read "multiply" I'll read it on my own.

I went to McLean Bible for nourishment of my soul... NOT to be told that I need to go and bring others, save others, preach the word, witness, blah blah blah blah. Relgion is personal, and I certianly won't be spewing off Bible verses at work. Week after week of this BS gets kinda old.

Others feels as I do. Watching for the membership of the church to start to shrink because of this latest "directional choice." Well, actually, I won't be watching... I'm looking for a new church.

I've looked inside my heart, and I question the leadership of this church and their decision for this "Multiply" garbage. Yes, garbage. This past week was a real treat. the lesson was talking about the number of Christians in the world. Yawn. Yes, fulfilling semon. Not.
