These are my ancestors....
James R. Jordan married Elizabeth Woodward, d. of Lancelot Woodward. They inherited land in Estill County from Lance " bordered on the West by the Kentucky River, on the East by Woodwards's Creek, on the South by Noland's Creek and on the North by the Red River. His son. Chesley Porter Jordan is my Grandfather, through Nathan Douglas Jordan (grandfather ),and James Douglas Jordan(my father).
James F. Jordan, his wife, Martha, and several of his children rest in peace in the Fieldler Cemetery on Harris Ferry Rd. Squire Jordan is buried in the Lexington Hospital's graveyard in an anonymous grave. Chesley (Chester) and his wife; Nathan and his wife; Zadoc and his wife are buried in the Lexington Cemetery.

Nice to meet you Major Jordan. I am the daughter of Sidney Jordan who was the son of Innis Jordan. Innis was the son of Zadoc Jordan who was the brother of James F. Jordan.
Innis married Loulia McIntyre and had 12 children...the youngest being my father. All of Innis and Loulia's children are deceased.
Seems we have family everywhere!

Nice to meet you, Kimberly. i met your brother, stan a few weeks ago. I hope to get back to KY in October to explore a potential Jordan family connection in Clark County.

Sorry I haven't responded. Been so busy with band and soccer, my daughter is a senior at Garrard County High School, and I haven't had a moment to myself. Stan told me he had contacted you. He recently broke his ankle and is laid up for a few weeks. Hope that you keep in touch and let us know of any contacts you find.

Sorry I missed you. The "Jordan Genealogists" poked around in Clark County on Sunday, Oct 10. We didn't make any startling discoveries, but we did get a few leads that Robert Burton is following up on about Jordans who once lived in that area where Sharshall Jordan lived and farmed.

Thanks, Bobby! I know plenty about my mother's side of the family but very little about my father's side. I know I have cousins scattered all over the place and it's nice to know who they are. Keep us informed when you find something!

I am your grandfather Glen's older brother. I'm glad that you are interested in your genealogy.
Edward Glen Jordan was born in 1939 -- two years younger than me. We were very close. Our older brother, James Douglas Jordan, JR is 8 years older than me. "Peanut," as we called him, was short with hazel eyes and blond hair. He was a scrapper...but had a heart as big as all outdoors. He served in the Navy and later in the Army.
His last job was as a security officer in louisville, KY.
There wasn't much about our family available when I first started doing genealogy in the 1980s. But now there is a lot on the Internet. Unfortunately, some of it is wrong. I keep trying to correct it, but some people just like to beleive what they want to believe.
What I can tell you is that there is much to be proud about your heritage. But it is up to you what your future will be.
