It's a very unfortunate accident that led to this mans death. Not knowing his injures or the extent of damage to he vehicle perhaps the driver didn't realize they hit him.

Last night while travelling W 26th there was a kid walking along side parked cars with a black jacket totally not visible to traffic. The sidewalks were perfectly clear and I almost tagged him with my truck mirror as several other cars honked and swerved.

Two blocks further was a jogger that decided to continue running thru the green light dressed in black jogging pants with a slight reflective strip on his shoes.

As I made my way to upper Peach there was another person totally dressed in black walking on the side of the road also. At least this person had the berm of the road to walk on.

Point of my ramblings, WTF??? Are you asking to get cream cheesed?

The word is " hit " tag is a game kids play...
Of course you are one of the he men with a truck , of am I scared of you.
The ones who waste this nation Gasoline or your he man trucks..
As for people who do wear black or dark clothing at night they are putting
themselves in harm's way..
That night that gentleman was hit on Liberty if I recall we were having heavy
rain at the time too makes things doubly hard to see..
Like it is some goof ball with no insurance... can't afford it because of
prior DUI's
Or never get involved with a accident with a person with Safe Auto.. 90%
of them get the insurance to get the card then never pay for it

After deciphering your post tardo, I’m not a man nor do I drive some jacked up monster truck.
Btw, the gas I guzzle is for "work" (you know, that four letter dirty word) and I pay for out of my pocket.

I was not the only driver trying to avoid hitting this kid. Yeh, I called it “tagging” his ass.

Simply because I would expect a child to come running into the street, not a moron walking with traffic, dressed in black at night.

Ohhhh, look….your neighbors just pulled in the driveway. I think they’re carrying a bag. Must me drugs.

I agree, I all too often see people of all ages, both genders and all abilities walking in the dark along the road wearing dark clothing (often in the street). While we are all cautious drivers (I hope) and should be aware of our surroundings, accidents do and can happen.

I knew Emory Black. I graduated high school with him and recently saw him. He was a very nice man who led a tough life. He did not deserve to have this happen to him, and I hope that the individual who hit him comes forward or gets caught.

Driving is a privilege, not a right. Kids run into the street, people back out into the street, cars cut us off. We all need to be aware, slow down and watch out.

I recognize that some of these folks put themselves in harm's way, that does not excuse hitting them and driving away.

All too often we should be saying nothing rather than I told you so. If we did more of that we would all live in a nicer society.
