Front page of this morning's paper
Headline "Exec leaves project"
Grossman says his Destination Erie Leadership Questioned - by others involved with the project.
County Government had already paid WRT $800,000.00 before they were essentially fired from the project.
Grossman said locals wanted a consultant who "will better explain the plan to the public, a group with 'more passion and leadership. We thought they were hesitant to stand in front of an audience and take the arrows..."

Well,,,isn't that the public officials job? Is it really a wise use of taxpayer provided tax/grant $800,000.00 dollars to seek a consultant to 'take the arrows' from the public?

I mean really, you simply can't make this stuff up.
What is the taxpayers return on that questionable investment?

I know, I know, no one cares.

a lot of expensive dinners were consumed at strategy meetings.. so somebody did benefit and the local economy was stimulated... plus they were able to fly in to the new improved airport from Philly... everybody wins !

You're right, you can't make this stuff up. Only in Erie, huh ? Well I'm glad for such "only in Erie" buffoonery because it serves as great comedy entertainment.
Did anyone actually believe that starting up another project like Destination Erie and bringing in outside consultants would lead to anything other than another debacle ? These outside firms must laugh themselves silly duping Erie into big buck payments all the time knowing what a hopeless train wreck Erie is in the first place. Erie's on going problem, one that will plague them forever is so obvious yet invisible to most. The problem is themselves. Erie cannot, because it does not have the collective intelligence and insight, realize or ever admit that its tired old habits and behaviors do not work anymore. They haven't worked for decades but stubborn resistance to change along with that lack of smarts have taken a toll so monumental that even a modest recovery is impossible.
Sitting back and enjoying the show has become a looked forward to pastime that I can confidently say will never end. That my friend is beyond " who cares " ?

I don't know. Was it Penn State Behrend?
Maybe Gannon?
Think Mercyhurst might have started it?
Certainly not Edinboro.
Lecom?
I wonder....
