The Hilberts are the scum of the earth. They treat their employees like indentured servants, and have no regard for anyone beneath their lofty position of wealth and privilege.

Joe Hilbert is one of the cowards who hide behind companies like Etter Road LLC, who have gone out of their way to make life miserable for residents in east Erie County.

Anyone who considers doing business with Pulakos should remember how badly the Hilbert family chooses to treat decent, hardworking people.

Since I was a kid Pulakos chocolate was always in our Easter baskets. I carried on the tradition with my kids and then my grandchildren. After last year I am done. Since Pulakos changed owners the chocolate is terrible. You can taste the wax. Gross. I always splurged on the better chocolate for Easter and now Pulakos is NOT the better chocolate. The Easter selection that went on for generations now sucks. They did away with a lot of their candy molds. My grandson just was recently selling Pulakos candy bars for a fund raiser and I bought some to help out...yuck. It really is a shame that they took an Erie tradition and ran it into the ground. What a shame, another Erie staple gone because of the almighty dollar. Romolo's is my new stop.

That Easter selection was in the dumper long before the sale, Paula. And those awful fund raiser bars aren't even made by Pulakos. It's a wonder they let their brand be further tarnished in that way.

all of your comments are way off base. the hilbert family started with nothing and with hard work they created business that helped to hire hunderds of workers so they and their families could live a good life. i have purched pluakos candy for sone time and i think it is the best choclate around.as far as your comment that they treat their workers like scum, you never worked for a hilbert company that go all out for their employees. i know as i had the privage to work for the hilbert,s for over 20 years. all of your comments show how ingorant you are to what is going on with the hilbert companies. with out them you would have app. 1000 people uninployed. these people would have to go on food stamps and have no medical coverage. in some cases they would posibly lose their home. think about the whole issue befor you crucify someone.

I too worked for the Hilbert family (Reddog) East side and I cannot say they were what I see posted here. They are human and flawed like any of us, but I worked for them for 5 years, was able to buy a home and start a family while working for them. Good family, started from the Mr. Bill Hilbert. Who is ill and I wish him and his family blessings. They are not scum, very good people who do care. Many of their employees have been woth them for decades. There will always be haters. ALWAYS.

Those of you who think the Hilberts are such nice people should ask the folks out on Mark Road in Greene Township how the Hilberts have treated them.

Strictly out of greed and spite, those families were tortured by the horrid noise that for years droned from the Hilberts' natural gas compressor(We're talkin' about Etter Road LLC - which is Bill Sr and Jr, Johnny and Joey Hilbert)

When those nice Hilberts were repeatedly confronted with stopping this wanton human rights abuse, they simply said, "too bad, that's progress, get used to it".

When the neighbors photographed Johnny Hilbert at their compressor site, Mr. Hilbert and his leaseholder opened up on them with a couple of machine guns. Then the Hilberts used their wealth and social standing to weasel out from under any criminal charges.

These are not nice people. I personally know about a dozen of the Hilberts former employees, and the horror stories from shops like Reddog and PHB Industries are just unbelievable.

If you want to worship the rich, that's fine. Just remember that you reap what you sow in this world.

I do not worship them, again, they are also flawed human beings as the rest of us are. Just stating that my expeience wasn't as many have seen it. There was things I may not agree with about how they conduct themselves but again I only know them on a professional level, nothing more. Hell, there are things I have done in my past I do not agree with:-) Have fun bashing

Steve and Anthony,

Guess you liked sucking off the Hilberts' money-teat so much you were able to ignore the way they treat people other than yourselves.

I speak of these bastards from first-hand experience. They are a bunch of sociopaths.

It isn't bashing. It's called the truth.

If, in your past, you made a conscious effort to willfully hurt innocent people in a fundamentally life-altering way, then I can see why you are a Hilbert apologist.

What the Hilberts did to the people who live on Mark Road will never be forgotten.

If there was any justice in this world, the whole Hilbert family would be in jail.

I sorry for any troubles you have had with them, they make have wronged you however from the hostility in your posts you still carry a lot of anger that isn't doing you much good. Time to move on my friend. I see you also post very negative things about Scott Bonnell too. Seems anyone that makes something of themselves is a POS in your book. I wish you luck with your dis-eased way of living with resentments and anger. Don't worry though, many on Topix and in our community live with the same dis-eased attitutes.

Blessings to you and yours. Be thankful, tis the season

Steve, what I posted about Bonnells has nothing to do with Scott, who I don't know from Adam. The post discusses only the quality of Bonnell Collision's output, which, in the case of the vehicle mentioned, was truly atrocious.

As far as my anger and hostility go, if the Hilberts did to you what they did to us, you'd probably feel the same way. When criminal acts are committed and not brought to justice, it has a lasting effect on the victims.

The reason for these posts is to illustrate to others what kind of actions the Hilberts have made upon their fellow man.

As for you, it seems like you are one of those folks who cloak their insults and judgment upon others in pseudo-Christian platitudes.

Thanks for the blessings, I will use them to pray for an improvement in your reading and comprehension.
