Why ? Because a worker carelessly stepped in front of a front end loader? Perhaps they should shoot the machine operator also. You sound like the typical ignorant Erieite. Which one of the clubs do you sit and complain?

Bob, if all you have to do all day long is bash Erie, why the hell do you care what goes on there? Don't you have a rake fight or a barn raising to go to?

What happened to Booger? I saw him in the hospital with occupational therapy barely able to move on the 3 rd floor in the AM shift then he was being sent to surgery late Friday. Very loud family wanted to stop in around lunch to check up on him but didn't want to get caught up in his LONG stories with interjections of his self laughing. I miss EC. That is a story of it own with ithe most diverse and interesting people I have ever know. God bless you all and the Benes family. Paul was a good guy.

Well I worked there for a few years. Like any place it has it's good points and bad points. It's a dirty, hot place to work. You have to shower before you can punch out. Your starting at the best time of year...it's not so hot and with the cooler weather it's easier to handle the heat from the ovens. Training will be easier because of that. It's probably the most stable place in Erie to work for the pay. I left there to go to GE and now I'll be out a job by December. It's hard work and most people don't make it through training. If your tough and aren't afraid to work or get dirty you'll be fine. Because of the high turnover, you get to move up in jobs fast. The more you move up the more money you get and the easier the work gets. They do have a union. Also now have monthly safety bonuses which I hear are really nice....usually cash and not some cheap piece of junk. They buy all employees lunch once a month...they didn't do it when I was there but I hear they've been doing it for over a year now. There is always overtime if you want it. Down side is if the guy doing your job after you doesn't come in, you have to stay. Usually 4 hours but if they can't find someone to come in then you get stuck for the whole 8 hours. They can't make you stay more than that though. Benefits are good...health, dental, vision insurance. 401k and life insurance. Wasn't uncommon for me to get $800 checks. Maybe not the best place to work but the money was nice and as long as you work, you won't get fired and they seem to go through a lot and haven't closed yet. Still really hot and dirty though. That was the worse part.
